Just sitting here checking through the forum and the door bell rings. Young guy with an I pad and starts his spiel;
neighbor behind me just signed up with him for yard service for mosquitos, ticks, and other yard
creatures. Told him I'm all set and he keeps talking. Again I say "not interested"...
Just came back from running errands. Blazing sun, temp at 94, and super humid. Drove by a church where there
was a crew paving an asphalt parking lot. Can't imagine how those guys do it given the ambient temp and the
hot asphalt.
Been trying to stay out of the heat & humidity, so downstairs to the basement. Working on incremental upgrades
such as painting people and adding details. My layout doesn't cover a specific era but most of the buildings and
cars would fall into mid century.

A long time ago, I got into the habit of putting the meter in the resistance function and shorting the leads together as the
first thing to do before using the meter. Per your post, I've also experienced broken leads.
Here's my take on retirement:
Every day is a Saturday or Sunday and you get all the holidays off. Retired in 2014 but I still get up
every day at 6:00 am.
