Hi all, its been a while but here are some updated photos. I added and removed a few things and its coming out nice. I decided to go with a cement plant theme for the main operations with a Walthers background kit added later.

Thank you for the help. I want to get the Digitrax Zepher system to start. Just wanted to make sure that the engines worked with it.

I am thinking of getting a few of the Walthers Life-Like Proto 2000 series engines with the DCC decoder installed, however when I do, I am not sure which DCC system its comatible with, for example Digitrax. I called the tech support but had to leave a message, so I was wondering if anyone here...

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I have some photos of it. I have to post them. Actually I was still having issues with derails, so I had to change my layout plans to 2 bay hopper cars and use a cement operations theme. Now the cars go around with no issues. But still working on the layout.

Ahh I found the problem. There was a section in the flextrack on a curve that caused the cars to derail at that point. I have replaced the curve with 18" curved sections and everything is smooth sailing.

Ok I will try that. I think its how far the trucks turn, I loosen them up so they can turn a little bit more. These are 53' well cars so they should be cool on the 22 and 18 inch curves.

I just got a set from Walthers. They are very nice. But having a problem with the flanges. They seem a little narrow for the code 83 and sometimes derail on a curve. I am going to look for wider wheels to fit more snug.

Hey I found the problem. Its not the lenght of the cars. I have found out that the wheels are a little narrow compared to the another rail car I have for testing and its causing it do derail sometimes on the curve, so I need to find some trucks and wheels that fit better on the rails. :D

Thanks for the tips. Some GP-38s would look cool. I was just wondering the size of the cars but 40' to 50' sound good. :)

Well I bought some well cars, and just found out they are to large for my layout. :( Since the smallest diameter is 18" and the largest is 22", what types of cars and locos would be perfect for the layout? I hope the train shop can exchange them. Since I have all the packaging.

Yep thats the ticket, thank you. I just did not know what they were called. Thanks. :)

What are the names of the trailers that the intermodal containers fit on for transport? I need some for my layout. I believe they can stack them up cause I seen several stacks of them at the local intermodal yard. Thanks

Let me explain. I though about painting the cork a cement color just for the trestle and bridges I was going to do that so it would be easier to mount the track and not use ballast on them. But not sure if I am still going to do that. As for the layers. This whole thing started out just as a...
