Looking for info on a couple eBay ore cars

Thank you for that. Didn't realize they were still in production and almost paid double the price on eBay for a set. https://www.micromark.com/HO-Scale-22-Wooden-Ore-Car-Kits-Pkg-of-2

Looking for info on a couple eBay ore cars

Bingo! Thanks! Found a couple kits on the 'bay and it does look like the right one. Probably grab a kit and try to build a couple more, although my finish rate with craftsman kits is low....LOL...

Looking for info on a couple eBay ore cars

Found these on the 'bay, and wondered if anyone knows anything about them. 20' ore cars, HOn3, nice details. The ad said wood, but they are plastic. A kit? Premade? Manufacturer? Mostly I am just curious, but wouldn't mind finding a couple more. They need a little work, some bent/broken...

Found a couple photos of my Dad's layout, from 1956

Found some more....These would be most likely 1958, in my parents first house. The house was very small, but Dad still put together this little double loop setup. I have picture of it placed next to the Christmas tree. Oh....And the 4-4-0 General? I did find that in Dad's stuff. She...

Found a couple photos of my Dad's layout, from 1956

No battery, either. Just wind her up every day. Thanks guys. Dad tried pretty much everything, flying free flight, and u-control planes, static models of all kinds, miniature figures, remote control boats (in the early '60s even). We did slot cars when that was hot. A few years before he...

Found a couple photos of my Dad's layout, from 1956

After my Mom passed in 2016, I started scanning all of my parents negatives and slides. Five years, and close to 6500+ photos later, I found these. My Dad's railroad from 1956, in my Grandparents basement, which I never saw because I was born 1956. Shortly after, my parents bought their first...

    Greetings from Knoxville

Glenn, just wanted to say I finally got over to Dan's Trains today. Neat place, and Randy is very nice. We chatted for a bit, and I'll be going back soon.

Ore car to ore car transfer station?

Thanks for the links, which led to other links, and so on. And now things are progressing, although slowly. Finished the bents for the trestle. It will be based loosely, (very loosely), on the Owenyo trestle linked above.

HO/HOn3 Apple River Canyon RR - First track plan w/AnyRail

Last time I designed a layout, it was pencil on paper. Ha. Here is my first track plan attempt with AnyRail 6. Narrow gauge lead mining, with a standard gauge interchange, and eventually a port delivery. Space is 12 ft along the back. 6' 6" on the left, and 10' 6" on the right. Necessary...

Ore car to ore car transfer station?

Lead mining, actually. I am sure you are correct about the economics involved. Lucky for me, in my alternative HO universe, lead mining in the Galena area of NW Illinois did not end in the mid/late 1800s. Instead, several small mines operated well into the late 1950s, using old narrow gauge...

Good to hear, thanks! I found out about his place a couple weeks ago, searching on line. Just have to get over there during his open hours.

Tichy 120 Ton Wrecking Crane and Boom Tender

So who was first, Tichy, or Gould? Curious, as I am sure these must be the same models. Started this one in the 80s, and I am now inspired to finish her up. (Plus, I recently got my first airbrush)
