    Let's talk computer interfaces

If you find the USB cable for the MRC Prodigy system, please post it up. I've been looking for the interface cable for some time, part #MRC 0001516, and it is always out of stock.

Mail Call! Railway Post Office, commonly abbreviated as RPO has rolled in!

Had these two NWSL gear kits show up today. Both needed for my second MDC/Roundhouse Shay kit... My messy assembly area....(And the other Shay)

    Choosing a DCC System

    Surely someone sells longer cables?

How to distinguish 2 similar locos

I get what you're saying. Hard to read those small numbers all the way across the layout. Maybe just change something enough to notice the difference. An open door or panel? Extra crewman on the running board?

    Choosing a DCC System

I understand, but they said it worked, feedback was good, and they took returns. Minimal risk, IMO.

    Choosing a DCC System

I just got back into the hobby last spring, after a couple decades away, and went through this research. Knowing all the big name systems worked, I just looked at which handheld I liked best, which was the MRC. Didn't take long to find a used Prodigy Advanced 2 system on the auction site. Got...

Looking for info on a couple eBay ore cars

So these kits are pretty nice, especially considering the price. Got the two pack for $15, and it was worth it. Minimal clean up, excellent instructions. Will probably get a 12 pack soon. After just a few hours Saturday, and today....

Looking for info on a couple eBay ore cars

Thank you for that. Didn't realize they were still in production and almost paid double the price on eBay for a set. https://www.micromark.com/HO-Scale-22-Wooden-Ore-Car-Kits-Pkg-of-2

Looking for info on a couple eBay ore cars

Bingo! Thanks! Found a couple kits on the 'bay and it does look like the right one. Probably grab a kit and try to build a couple more, although my finish rate with craftsman kits is low....LOL...

Looking for info on a couple eBay ore cars

Found these on the 'bay, and wondered if anyone knows anything about them. 20' ore cars, HOn3, nice details. The ad said wood, but they are plastic. A kit? Premade? Manufacturer? Mostly I am just curious, but wouldn't mind finding a couple more. They need a little work, some bent/broken...

Found a couple photos of my Dad's layout, from 1956

Found some more....These would be most likely 1958, in my parents first house. The house was very small, but Dad still put together this little double loop setup. I have picture of it placed next to the Christmas tree. Oh....And the 4-4-0 General? I did find that in Dad's stuff. She...

Found a couple photos of my Dad's layout, from 1956

No battery, either. Just wind her up every day. Thanks guys. Dad tried pretty much everything, flying free flight, and u-control planes, static models of all kinds, miniature figures, remote control boats (in the early '60s even). We did slot cars when that was hot. A few years before he...

Found a couple photos of my Dad's layout, from 1956

After my Mom passed in 2016, I started scanning all of my parents negatives and slides. Five years, and close to 6500+ photos later, I found these. My Dad's railroad from 1956, in my Grandparents basement, which I never saw because I was born 1956. Shortly after, my parents bought their first...

    Greetings from Knoxville

Glenn, just wanted to say I finally got over to Dan's Trains today. Neat place, and Randy is very nice. We chatted for a bit, and I'll be going back soon.
