Wreck repair???

Once upon a time the Mt Airy & Western (our clubs pvt. road) owned a few U-boats. One met with a gasoline tanker at a grade crossing. Short on power and funds, the shop forces did what they could. They took the nose of a wrecked F7 and grafted it to the U-boat. The quickly repainted her in the stillborn "safety" scheme and cut her loose. Since this was the 2nd life for #13, she got her class designation changed. Yeah, you guessed it.
She's an FU-2 !

One of the Mexican railroasds did this with some wrecked ALCO hood units.I always thought the units were rather neat looking and this FU-2 fits in that catagory too.
