When steam was king

Found an old photograph of days gone by, when steam engines pulled all mainline trains.
I'm not usually a big fan of digitally enhanced pics, but I really like this one! Great work. You've captured the "old time" look of steam. BTW, love that wig wag!
 
I'm with Brunton. A Saint Louis Southwestern locomotive and a saguaro cactus look funny together. The loco must be on loan to the SP. I love the road itself and the wig-wag signal.
 
In the early fifties ST. L. SW steam engines were on lease to SP for eleven months before being renumbered and relettered into SP's roster. Some even made it to San Fransisco in ST. L. SW lettering, pulling commute trains in May 1953...
