Alabama Central Steamers

SRR #5200 Ss 2-10-2 USRA light. The 5200 class "santa fe's" on the SRR were the first engine of this type on the property. They were the largest non-articulateds on the road. It was discovered that the wheelbase for this class was too long for some of the curves in their assigned districts, so Franklin Lateral Motion devices were attached to the front drivers to allow more flexibilty on the tight curves. Akane import under Fuji label. 1st brass engined accquired in 1974. Remotored 1978 with Sagami style can motor.
