Good morning gang!

Made it to work ok, on my second cup of coffee and have calmed down since I got all fired up over David's predicament with his brides medications.

Frost on the pumpkins this morning, with the daytime high of only 52° under sunny skies.

Prince Valium, your Spaceballs are showing!!! 😁 😀😁 May the Schwartz be with you!!

Good Morning All. Clear and 46° this morning, heading up to probably 70° today depending on how much the sun/clouds work out. The weather geeks are expecting at least a week of the same. Showers are in the forecast for Sunday/Monday but the chances are quite slim.

I did do the planned mowing yesterday over in the SW corner of the yard. Besides being over the septic tank/area, that's where all of the gifted trees are piled. I did some more trimming on them that allowed me to mow a bit closer to the main pile. The next outing over there will require a chainsaw to start the firewood collection. On the indoor front, I did two loads of laundry, the regular weekly bed linen load and a hamper load of clothing. We have been lucky the past few days, I did not have to start a fire in the heater, and the two space heaters sufficed for overnight heating only. Matter of fact, the one in the bedroom cycled off more than on. Making it through the winter with the supply of firewood is always tricky, but the only time we came close was the Deep Freeze of 2021. I count on 13 weeks and I generally always have some left over. Takes about 1 1/2 cords total.

Peeked in on the Giants/Cowboys game a few times, looked like the Cowboys had things easily in hand. I might have to get interested in their progress a little more. We went out to eat in Denton last night, I noted that gasoline prices have dropped even further, now at $2.69/gallon. Still higher than I was paying in 2020.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I bounced around on a lot of things. I did some work on that cursed fence, getting it partially done. I primered the white metal motorcycle and then painted all of the black parts.

Additional touch-up after I paint the primary color of dark green.
Also on the workbench, I started the upgrade of a laser-cut wood structure from American Model Builders, Nine Mile House & Tavern. I think that this was the second or third laser-cut wood kit that I built.

Step one was to paint the base with Model Master Aged Concrete paint.

I will be adding a few figures to both the inside and front porch.

David - Thank you for the comment. I especially like to add small scenes all over the layout. I have many, and many more planned. I do like your scenes as well, your foliage is much more lush than mine, but my part of the earth and the part that I model is not so lush.
Almost seems that someone dropped the ball on the medication.
Mike - Neither of my daughters nor my son was able to stop my wife from "bleacher coaching". Of course it drew attention to the guy sleeping in the stands besides her!

Everybody have a great day.

I'm back, after once again doing battle with my new least favorite credit union.
The good news is, the police weren't called.
The bad news is, they really can't tell me why they are continuing to draw money from the external account, or when they will stop doing it.
I'm sure you know how the conversation went after they shared that with me...
I've closed all my accounts, except for the car loan, and as soon as I come up with an extra $900 to cover the amount over the car's value that I currently owe, that account is going to be transferred and moved away from them, as well.

Willie. My layout is a secondary route line. Slow trains and diverted trains of the main line. The lineside is more overgrown. In real life branches of trees and large bushes 'thwack' the sides of carriages as trains pass. Sometimes you think the carriage windows will break.

Banks are a fraud. Ex made a so called "line of credit" in our bank. After divorcing me instead of repaying this with me (as per our agreement), she withdrew several hundred $, while i was paying extra to pay it off. Unable to take her name off of it i was able to close it permanently. But now i have to pay it off myself. I didn't even know about it untill i checked my balance.

If ex-spouses dedicated the same amount of effort into the relationship, instead of screwing over their ex, they would be so much better off...

Well, I have seen a lot of piss-poor excuses in my life, but I believe that that will rise to the top of my list?

Glad to hear the cops weren't called, but the rest sounds like bovine excrement. I would have lost my 💩 with them! You have the patience of the saints my friend!

Happy Monday...

Slow start to the chilly morning..Started in the 20s this morning, now up to 47°. Sunny with Calm winds.

Predictable Sunday Football wise: Ravens drop a heart breaker in the last 2 minutes. Giants get clobbered, (expected), Washington FC lost, and da Jets lost to the Raiders - pitiful performance....Vancouver beat the Habs in the NHL game I watched.

The Texans "last-second" win over the Bengals, made someone a $5.5M parlay winner...was the fix in? Not for nothing with all the emphasis on sportsbook on TV and from all the leagues, one has to wonder, eh? Poor old Pete Rose is still the bad guy....hell, he was just ahead of his time...

Now, off to the train room.

Good morning from a little part of Wisconsin. Temperature is 41f degrees heading to the high 50’s and then 60’s the rest of week per the weather guessers.

I will walk outside after the sun comes up at 6:48am. It’s so much nicer walking outside then the darn treadmill. I will exercise the 3 horses and ride one of them this afternoon. I will get in the pool around 8 tonight as the trainer and physical therapist are using me as a “guinea pig”. They are spreading out my active times hoping to keep me less fatigued during the afternoon and late evenings. Somewhere between those activities I will be at the weathering bench. I have been napping around 3pm with a 30 minute alarm. I have been falling to sleep almost nightly the last month around 9 -10:30pm in my chair in the cave. Then going to bed at 11:30pm to midnight and sleeping to 5:30 or later. The doctor is aware and before we do medicine changes they want to see if moving the swimming to the evening will help.

Last night I won a few bids on EBay for containers by Atlas and Walthers. So 32 more containers for me. I have 120 already so this will round out the layout needs at this time. $7 to $8 is a good deal if they really are new!

enjoy the day

TomO - changing your schedule does help and hopefully will do the trick for you. My dad is battling prostate cancer and he is now on his 2nd week of radiation treatments with 8 more weeks to go. We changed his activity schedule and it helped him a lot. In the mean time I am helping with his house/yard chores to stay caught up before winter sets in. Managing my place and his which is substantially bigger than mine is a task. I got my boat winterized yesterday. I have a few tweaks to do this week to say one and done with the boat. Put it away earlier than I wanted but the additional work with pop's place I had no choice. My last item for outside is last haul of firewood and stacking. Next is prepping for Thanksgiving. Gotta get the turkey fryer out and pickup some peanut oil. Looks like I will be doing a few turkeys and a few chickens in the fryer.

I hope you feel better!

I didn't serve but my dad, some of my uncles, and lots of other relations did, and I'm grateful for their examples and service. My brotehr (3 years younger) is in the AZ National Guard. I believe a Captain waiting for the Major paperwork to go through, or something like that.

So I saw on FB yesterday or maybe Saturday night a post from my niece, that said her dad, my brother, was listed in the selection list for Major so there will no longer be two Captain LastName in the family (my niece is also a Captain, now in the reserves I believe after doing a stint in the regular army to fulfill her ROTC commitment).

So I guess the paperwork is finally done. Covid and other things postponed it due to required classes for promotion not taking place as scheduled.
