Good Morning All. Clear and 46° this morning, heading up to probably 70° today depending on how much the sun/clouds work out. The weather geeks are expecting at least a week of the same. Showers are in the forecast for Sunday/Monday but the chances are quite slim.
I did do the planned mowing yesterday over in the SW corner of the yard. Besides being over the septic tank/area, that's where all of the gifted trees are piled. I did some more trimming on them that allowed me to mow a bit closer to the main pile. The next outing over there will require a chainsaw to start the firewood collection. On the indoor front, I did two loads of laundry, the regular weekly bed linen load and a hamper load of clothing. We have been lucky the past few days, I did not have to start a fire in the heater, and the two space heaters sufficed for overnight heating only. Matter of fact, the one in the bedroom cycled off more than on. Making it through the winter with the supply of firewood is always tricky, but the only time we came close was the Deep Freeze of 2021. I count on 13 weeks and I generally always have some left over. Takes about 1 1/2 cords total.
Peeked in on the Giants/Cowboys game a few times, looked like the Cowboys had things easily in hand. I might have to get interested in their progress a little more. We went out to eat in Denton last night, I noted that gasoline prices have dropped even further, now at $2.69/gallon. Still higher than I was paying in 2020.
Out in the train shed yesterday, I bounced around on a lot of things. I did some work on that cursed fence, getting it partially done. I primered the white metal motorcycle and then painted all of the black parts.
Additional touch-up after I paint the primary color of dark green.
Also on the workbench, I started the upgrade of a laser-cut wood structure from American Model Builders, Nine Mile House & Tavern. I think that this was the second or third laser-cut wood kit that I built.
Step one was to paint the base with Model Master Aged Concrete paint.
I will be adding a few figures to both the inside and front porch.
David - Thank you for the comment. I especially like to add small scenes all over the layout. I have many, and many more planned. I do like your scenes as well, your foliage is much more lush than mine, but my part of the earth and the part that I model is not so lush.
Almost seems that someone dropped the ball on the medication.
Mike - Neither of my daughters nor my son was able to stop my wife from "bleacher coaching". Of course it drew attention to the guy sleeping in the stands besides her!
Everybody have a great day.
