Good afternoon.
77 degrees with a nice breeze. At least we don't have the high temps that a lot of the rest of the country has. Was watching the race in Chicago where the temps were up into the 90's and the temps inside the race cars was over
150 degrees.
Where did the first half of the year go? Guess time flies when you're having fun.
No trains today, but I did get the LED's needed to light the interior of some of the buildings and the Woodland Scenics Water Effects for the pond that is on my procrastination list.
It was a really busy night at the club last night. I did run steam for a change.
Besides being busy, we also had trains running in to opposite direction on both of the main line tracks. A new rule was put into operations last night. The train coming upgrade would have the right of way even if it was shorter
AND if the passing siding was long enough to the train heading down grade. One exception was the 16 car long Empire Builder as ther areno sidings long enough for that train.
Here my steamer is heading to the summit with a pair of Geeps sitting in the passing siding.
Here the DM&IR Yellowstone with its ore train passes going down grade.
Things actually went pretty smoothly even though
someone decided to have trains running in both directions at the same time. It did make things interesting.
When I was heading back to the car to come home, this flat car was sitting in the yard. I would like tomodel something like this if I could find equipment that would fit the 50's time period.
My son and his wife just got here with a box of sausage patties to be put into vacuum bags so I will say good evening.
