Just a quick run by.

Corey, quit torturing us with descriptions. We need PICTURES!

CJ, check the setting on the command station. There is an ops switch which determines the command stations reaction time to a short. Change it to the longer time. Which automatic reversing circuit are you using?

Glenn

PM-42. That's what gets me, Glenn. The other reversers on that board work just fine. Its the TT section that won't trip properly. I even switched from one section to another, (all 4 sections are set up for reversing on this particular board), and it still just shorted. The other two sections control my two staging yards.

CJ,

Check the command station setting for OpSw18. Set it to the 1/2 second setting. Also try setting the PM42 section to trip @ 1.5 amps instead of the standard 3 amps.

Glenn

Awesome, we got THUNDERSNOW!!!:eek::eek:

Its been snowing since 4, just measured 4 1/2 inches outside in 2 1/2 hours!! Supposed to be like this til 10pm.:eek::eek:

Now I'm glad I shoveled the 3 inches we got this morning off the driveway earlier.........who knows how much well get when this stops.....the weather idiots who started calling our 2nd storm a dusting are now saying 10 inches!!

BBL,,,,dinner bell just rang!:D

Karl youse guys can have all of the snow. I am ready for spring to heck with spring bring on summer the hotter the better. I was ready for warm weather back in October.

It's wet and 35 here, supposed to be 25 by morning. My truck and I will be ice skating to work in the morning. We had thunder and lightning with rain throughout the day, along with a few sleet showers and snow flurries.
We had an NFG start Monday at work. Rumor has it he will be a replacement for one of us, so I guess I have no choice but drive in it tomorrow to minimize the chance I may be the receiver of the axe.

Just measured the back deck,,,,,,10 inches!!:eek::eek: I parked my car as close to the garage door as I could yesterday, still, protedted by the house (somewhat) there is 8 inches on the hood!!:eek::eek: Both surfaces had ZERO snow on them at 4 pm.
We got another 2 hours or so of this nonsense before it stops. Guess I'll be taking the wife to work tomorrow in the Ranger!!!

Larry, whats your address again? I got a LARGE package I wanna ship to ya!!!:p:rolleyes::D

Kevin,
Your lucky you have power, just heard PEPCO has almost 300,000 customers in DC, Montgomery and PG counties in the dark!

Good morning. It's mostly clear and 28 here. They've issued a black ice warning, anybody that doesn't have to be on the streets is supposed to stay home. I don't have to be on the streets, but I do have to go to work...

Hey coffee shop!

Mild weather lately. Its somewheres in the low 30s for a high today. I did not get any of the snow that im sure youve heard of on the news, i live to far north. However, it is snowing right now, a nice pretty snow, nothing scary. The region where Drew lives probably got hammered with snow though.

Not much on the agenda today, have a test at noon and meeting up with some friends for lunch beforehand. I have practice about an hour after the test, probably just hang out at school with some other kids before then.

Karl- Thanks for telling me about those LEDs, is there a forum member that is a distributor for them? I think ill order some and wire up both SD75s and my beloved BB CP AC4400s.

Matt, your welcome! :D As far as I know, Ulrich is the only place to get them, prewired with leads. I got them once from a local electronics store, but they were not prewired. Talk about a bugger soldering wires on!!!

Good morning. It's 37° and partly cloudy. The high will be around 60° and sunny.

Left side of my neck, side and upper thigh are still tingling but not quite as numb as they were yesterday. Still not feeling up to par either but I felt good enough last night to attend the fire dept board meeting. We're working on getting a new class A pumper truck. Once it's been acquired the old one (98-99 GMC) will be going to our sub-station at Empire Point. The old pumper truck there (71 Crown) will no longer pass the pump test and needs to be replaced. Our new truck will be on an International chassis. Need to get some laundry done today so I'll likely spend some time in the traction rig whgile that's going on. The upper part of my left arm isn't numb and I have the use of it but it's tingling like ants are using it for a race track which is almost worse. At least there's no pain but it's still aggravating. If the traction weights don't help I'll have to see the doc about it. Probably won't get anything done on the layout today unless I can get this tingling issue sorted out. I still think it's due to my C5-C6 vertebrae being out of line. I also need to get the carb on the van adjusted. The fuel mixture needs to be a bit richer. Talked to the nephew about it yesterday and he'll get on it as soon as he can. I don't need it done right away but I don't intend to be still waiting on it a month from now either. I could do it myself but with my nerve problems being what they are I'd rather not unless I absolutely had to.

Good morning folks.

The battle continues at work but I think I'm winning!:D I'm learning to puff up my chest so to speak and make my self look bigger. That way the boss backs down! I'm sure I'm not actually winning, but I feel like I am.

I messed around with my ballast/gravel parking lot last night. After using Arizona mineral ballast for my track, I forgot that WS ballast floats! Every time I add water and glue to level it out it dries lumpy. I finally decided to take a putty knife and smooth it out after it dried a little. I think that took care of the lumpiness. What a hassle! I think it's funny when things you think will be hard are actually easy. Then the stuff you think is easy ends up being harder than you thought it would be. Oh well, it's a hobby right!:D

Edit: Jeffrey, every day I think I have a problem, I should read your posts. The battle you have EVERY DAY makes me feel like I'm just whining. Your good attitude is an inspiration to all.

I have a long day at work today. Thank God it's been busy lately.
Have a good day everyone.

Yeah Jeffery, I am off work due to disabaility, but mine is just for schizo-affective disorder. I don't know how you maintain such a positive attitude. I know there are times I whine about how I feel, but at least I'm not dealing with physical pain. I don't know how I would handle that. I doubt I could without some serious pain killers.

Good Morning to Everyone
It's 50* here with clear skies and bright Sun which is good. My buddy down in the valley says it very foggy there which often is the case as the valley is totally enclosed until you get up North toward the Sacramento Delta area.

Francine, the waitress comes over:
Well Good Morning, don't you look nice, glad you came over, I'm hungry this morning. I'll have a couple of [leggs] I mean eggs, a couple of sausage paddies, lots of hash browns and keep the coffee coming, ok? Thanks Sweetheart. Oh, I'd like some Rye toast too if you have it with the Caraway seeds in it.

I received my DVD of Emperor of the North yesterday and enjoyed watching it again after so long a time passed since I first saw it. A lot of good shots showing the various conditions of the cars etc.

Also some place on the forum someone said something about the fact his DVD didn't have Marty Robbins singing the theme song but some one else? I tried to find that post looking under, 'My favorite Train Movie/s', and came up blank yet I know I read that on here, at least I thought I did?

Hope everyone has a good Day!

Say Corey
It seems like your having a lot more trouble gluing your ballast down than you should?

If I remember you should be using a mixture of 1/3 white clue to 2/3's parts of water with a few drops of liquid dish soap as a wetting agent and shake it a bit to ensure it's fairly evenly mixed. With the dish soap added to a fairly thin mixture it should very
readily find it way around all the ballast and glue it down fast when dry and I've never experienced any ballast floating to the surface of this mixture.

Also with a mixture like this it will completely soak in and unnoticeable when dry. I'm even using the yellow carpenters glue and it's just barely noticeable upon close inspection.

Hope this helps?
