Besides Hawkeye, who else here is working on or accumulating parts for a Railflyer build?

I'll soon be starting my SD40-2 and I was wondering what kind of resources we have here from those who have or are doing a build. This is going to be my first ever scratch build and help is going to be needed.

*here*

I'm currently working on a BNSF SD40-2, with SD45 flares...

Plan to order parts for a GP38-2B & two chassis kits to bash into a couple of F59PH chassis...

I am planning a SD40-2 for myself as well. Do you know about his google site? https://sites.google.com/a/railflyermodelprototypes.com/building-resources/Home

I've been looking at that one and Hawkeye's milepost15.

It looks like we've got a bunch of SD40 nuts. Be sure and post pics, tricks, and tips. I'll do my best to do the same.

I've received all the bundles for the frame/tank/pilot and recently ordered the details and pre-ordered the trucks and drive. I'm probably going to drive Hawkeye nuts with all the questions that are coming. Feel free to put me on your ignore list.:D

It looks like I need to buy some Barge for assembly. I've also got to order some tools from Chris to complete the build.

Josh,

Actually when you consider that our shipping costs on this item are less than Micro Mark then you are not really saving ten dollars.

I want to get paid for my efforts but I can be very honest in saying the margin in the MSRP does not go a long way when you factor in all of the costs of doing business. A large retailer such as Micro Mark can carry a discount to you based on volume however if you look at the big picture the costs are passed on to you in handling fees and other products that are more expensive as the Etch Mate is likely used as a loss leader.

Anyway - your detail bundle is in the mail. The side sills are late, they didn't make the shipment last week but are due on the next one.

I put a major sale on the web-site. Get in before the 31st for some awesome deals.

Thanks.

Awesome, can't wait for my details!

As for ordering from Mircomark, I guess I would not know their shipping is higher, my wife ordered it, along with a ton of other stuff, last Christmas! Thanks for the info, I do have to admit your shipping cost are the best I've ever seen.
