What's the difference in Atlas Traniman, Master, Silver, Gold?

Can someone tell me if the silver line have speakers installed or do you need to add those as well to get sound? I just purchased a used Dash 8 silver and wanted to know if I'll need to be getting a speaker for sound or not.

Only units that have speakers and sound are gold series. You will have to get speakers for Silver Series locos.
 
Some of the Atlas Master Series Silver are the same as the red box locos, with a plug, and nothing else.

Some of the Atlas Master Series Silver were made along with the Atlas Master Series Gold (same tooling). The Gold would have speakers and a sound decoder. The Silver would have a plug and two removable weights where the speakers would be. The silver does not have speakers.
