Nothing at the moment but my flex track arrived today. Hopefully have a complete freight yard again by the end of the weekend 😃 IMG_20240716_164546.jpg

Today...Absolutely nothing. Too hot in my garage. 86°F !
Same in mine, and that humidity is terrible!

But the work crews have been out working in short spurts. The big project currently is the section under my 150' Pratt Truss bridge. In fact, the bridge has been removed temporarily to finally get the scenery underneath it done (not photographed).

I changed out some coal cars today and when I pulled them off the rails a couple of the trucks stayed behind on the track. I find that Walthers cars sometimes have their screws work loose from vibration, the problem now was where the heck did I lose them?
After some thought my solution was to get out the Centerline track cleaning car and mount a strong magnet to a piece of steel above it.
Worked pretty slick, in fact it even found a few track nails that have been lurking on the ties for some time!
I just might make a permanent such car and include it in my Loram work train!

Today was a good layout day 🥳. Got rained out of work so spent a good amount of time on the layout. Started re-doing the small hills I wasn't happy with and started scenery in the yard! Hopefully have an update in my build thread this weekend 😀

I got the new lights installed on the layout, and have the wires hooked up to the bus wires, and guess what -- they worked!

One LED burned out a few weeks back and since I could not find the same type to replace, I decided to go with streetlights and put in a whole row of them. The blur just below the street is the headlight of my 4-6-0 in motion.

What a great photo 😀

I haven’t started taking mine down yet still working on building a last few projects. Playing with the 3d printer for future projects. And going through samborn maps Those have so many layout design ideas and answers for tight spaces. Once done with the 20 era map I will go through the 51 era in the same area. See the changes and additions. Then start the new layout plan. What ever you do, never open satelite and street view to see if you can find anything left of what you see on the map. You will never get anything else done. You will be captured
