The gentleman I bought my layout from included all of his tools as well. I'm guessing this is a track cutting tool but I'm not sure?

I don't know a reason to cut track at various angles, ninety degrees always works fine for me. Maybe for cutting cork roadbed??
I believe it's called a Miter Shear and it is for angular cutting of soft wood (pine) molding. It should work well for cutting cork roadbed, but I wouldn't try it on rail. If you cut roadbed on an angle it won't show as well as a straight cut might.

The quickest way to destroy that is to use it to cut track/rail. It is used to cut strip-wood or styrene at an angle.

Is that what you call us now? I like it...

A lot of scratch builders use it to cut styrene to angles as well.
Thanks, this was very helpful.
