Jim, as recently as 2002, beef tallow was used in their fryers altho in small quantities. The last straw was when some Hindus found out about it and complained, so the last traces of it were supposedly removed as a result of that (2002). The earlier (1990) conversion for health (health? fries?) wasn't a total conversion, some beef tallow remained as a flavoring.

regardless I still like 'em today. None come close. No one has every mistaken me for a vegetarian.....
