What are you buying this Month?

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

Earlier this week, I received 6-ScaleTrains SD40-2's, that I pre-ordered back in February. They came in about six weeks earlier than expected.

All of them represent units rebuilt with the headlight in the nose and horns in the middle of the long hood; done to reduce glare and make the cab quieter.

I do not tend to buy Commemorative or Fantasy models unless I really like them.
This one is a rather special to me. Although it is for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity, it is part of the Trust that operated and helped my oldest grandson to recover from life threatening illness.
Just under half the cost of the wagon went to the charity was another reason to buy.

Bought some plastic weld and some tools like nippers, and other little tools to help me do repairs and replace other ones I have and I think I have worn them out.
Also 5 new box cars are on the way and should receive them this coming Tuesday. I will add some detail and make sure everything is in order. Nothing big this month, not until January.
Plus doing some ground scenery and maintenance on the railroad.

Sounds good, I also plan on going to the timonium train show on the 25 , my birthday.
I'll be looking to buy diesel locomotives hopefully.
Funny. My birthdays on the 11th. :)
I will be getting some spending cash. So who knows what I might get!...Although, due to my interest in one too many hobbies, I wouldn't expect anything grand! 🤣

I have ordered some nameplates for four locomotives.
Three are names of relatives who lived the Edwardian era; my railway timeframe.

Lady Victoria
Lady Adelaide
Lady Edith.

The fourth nameplate is Oakwood. Some of my Leeds Scarcroft & Wetherby Railway locomotives are named after villages and towns along the route.

I hope they do not take as long to arrive as my previous order.

I just ordered some boxcars from Scaletrains direct. Normally I buy via Hiawatha Hobbies but shipping is free after a certain dollar. I am splitting the purchase with a couple weathering clients and a local friend
