My haul for this month:
This is mostly just stuff to play with. I doubt that much, if any, of it will end up on my layout. I need to learn what as many of the gotchas as possible are before I finish the design and start building though, so here we are.
None of this these liveries are relevant for what I'm currently thinking of building, but anything involving cats is a must, so... I saw it and had to have it. =)
so this week i got those nice looking N scale cars! and i really have to say they look stunning.
and, dont ask me why but i ordered:
- a big chunk of Z scale track and turnouts .....
sometimes i hate myself for having so many ideas and projects... really...

Z scale has really come a long way over the years. They have a lot more details now. Can't say I blame you as I've thought about it as well. Until I see the prices... haha

I made an impulse buy for a Kato Kumoya 90. Closest I could get to an N scale Kumoha 40 since I have an HO version.
At first, it ran like cr@p so I was worried. Took a look at the motor and added some oil to its bearings. Yep, that did the trick. Added cabin lights and off to the races. Need to investigate why the lights look so yellow...
Kumoha 40 for reference. I like the rounded body and protruding headlight better.

KATO HO D51.
This is my second unit as I had to return my first one due to the thing shorting out and developing rod knock on the 2nd day. I thought that I would not buy this again, but after seeing a lot of videos and seeing what others were able to accomplish with this, I got weak. This thing is not DCC ready. The previous release had a 8 pin in the tender. They removed it for some reason and went with a 2 conductor drawbar, similar to their N-scale stuff. This was the source of the shorting issue. After I put in several days worth of running, I'll put a blob of goop on the drawbar to ensure that the conductors never get a chance to meet.
Bought it from RG Rokko this time and he told me that they checked it out after they had heard of all the issues. They actually had to send a few of theirs back. They were also nice enough to send me the upgrade parts as a gift since the box had been smashed. Awesome! Will attempt that later.
Many people here know I like ships. One book I wanted to purchase has just become available to me. 'Railway Ships At War' by A,J. Mullay.
It has just arrived (along with other books on shipping). Will post a picture later.
New books arrived.
One is the Railway Ships at War.
One is about Tea Clippers (written in 1933)
The third is about Warships in 1790 - 1805

The result of drunk buying. Didn't hit a tree but did get junk.
This is a Microace C-type. It is a shorty version of an EF55 or something. It was cute and cheap so I took a chance. It runs very well and is geared very slow, but it is a mini version of my Mantua 0-6-0 coffee grinder. After 1 hour of running, the motor is out, the coreless motor geared and the motor mount printing. I think this will be my quickest remotor project.

I got a bad case of the funzalo. I'll probably pick up a little bit of paint and glue from this one small shop near my house. They don't got much in the way of trains since they're more into RC and slot cars but they're good for that stuff and they're within minutes from me. I live out in the boonies. You want anything beyond that and the same tired old Woodland Scenics and Bachmann crap you gotta head closer to the big city, go online, or wait for the Greenberg shows to roll into a nearby town.
Couldn't help myself since I don't have a layout to work on, but got some new cars. Gotta start building so I don't buy anymore!
A couple Walthers Mainline modern reefers to add to the fleet for the food distribution warehouse:
An Atlas Master 60' 7550 boxcar (first boxcar from Atlas) for some variety for boxcars on mainline runs:
Building my last layout and beings I am near 80 there is no more hand laying my track as nice as it is. I have ordered a bunch of Bachmann ez ho track and #6 switches. I am very impressed with the quality and the looks of it. Not inexpensive but for me now I need easy. I'll be ordering more next month to finish up the track laying and starting up the storage yard and the tracks for the propane tank yard.
Just ordered two turnouts. Been stagnant for so long... gotta get going

Love me a Walthers Mainline car. I really like my new Walthers reefers.
There is a knock on the door.
Who can that be on a Sunday? Tradesmen’s entrance as well.
It is Lady Cornelia. She wasn’t expected until tomorrow.
What a delight.
I took off her baggage. Always too much in a way, but a pretty sight to see.
Rather petite one would say. Just as I imagined..
I shall take her upstairs and show her to her room.
I hope she is happy with the other ladies.
Oh! I did not mention. Lady Cornelia is a little 0.4.0 Peckett W4 locomotive.
An oddball colour to the rest of the fleet, but then the real Lady Cornelia was an 'odball' in a lovely way (so I have been told).
