Picked up a rather "abused" Proto 1K RDC

Looks like it's been dropped and steps re-glued on both ends. Bit of a nasty paint job as well:

But that's ok as I'm looking for an RDC to strip and refinish as either a Dominion Atlantic car or a via RDC that ran the same DAR route. Was advertised as run in forward and reverse on a test track, so it at least runs.....knock on wood......;)

That's what I like to call "a diamond in the rough".

Just received my first brand-new locomotive, a Bowser Spokane Portland and Seattle RS-3. I bought this with some of the cash from my eBay selling/downsizing of my collection. This is easily the nicest and most detailed engine in my collection. Ran it in today, and it is easily the best runner in the collection too(It better be lol). Also happy to buy a Bowser loco and support them. I purchased this through Iron Planet Hobbies on eBay. Great stuff there.

One of those came through my town on a CN branch line last June or July. I was at the store across the street from the crossing and didn't have my phone or a camera with me at the time.

I left the store as fast as I could get out of there to chase it back to the grade crossing on my street, but it was already 100 yards down the track. I haven't seen it since. It was in good condition and has a distinctive horn sound.

Nice! The paint scheme reminds me a bit of Great Northern's. Iron Planet Hobbies is where I bought my three Maxon can motors, nice, friendly staff there.

Bought a few more cars to add to the roster this month from Yankee Dabbler. I love the Tropicana cars...Atlas did good with them! They're still on sale at YD ($38) if you're interested.
