What are you buying this Month?

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

Best wishes on the show!

I’ve turned off the ordering of NEW freight cars and diesels until further notice. I see Walthers and Athearn via their direct emails the last couple days have held off importing into the US anything new. 145% tariffs understandably are hurting their business plan.

I’ll be searching even more closely the FB sales sites. At this time not planning on attending any shows
Thank you! Yeah, I've gotten spoiled now... I wont buy anything too expensive because of the great luck I have had at shows so far. :rolleyes:That and FB are the way to go!

Sorry about the photos. Phone was acting wired up until the locomotives. I may retake and replace them shortly (Maybe).

Came back from the show! It was not as big of a haul as I am use to, but I have some projects I need to finish anyway.
I got four binders of Train magazines (I got them because I prefer the older ones), a set of 4 heavyweights (Five if you include the second observation), a 20 pair pack of proto knuckle couplers (Which I feel was a steal at 10$), a metal Lionel bridge which I plan on "restoring", and then flipping it (If anyone has any info on what this exact model is, I would greatly appreciate it) and some shells for a few projects and a HO transfer table.

The prize possessions of the show where the two following locomotives.

This first one is not...(Sorry to those who like it) the most attractive looking. But that's not why I am very exited about it. I plan on using its wheel base for a scratch build/kit bash project.
Looking at the base, who can guess first what I am using it for? 😁

And the last one is a Mantua Berkshire (Heavily modified). As beautiful as it is, I will be redoing it to fit one of my road names I run. This will be my next project along with another loco. Very excited though! 😊

I was/am so pleased with the Maxon can motor that I installed in my Gorre & Daphetid 26 tribute engine that I managed to get a discount on two more that I plan to use to upgrade G&D 27 and my Russian decapod, CM, MT & SL 522. They were supposed to have arrived today, but now it's looking like it'll probably be tomorrow.
That is great! You got it up and running now?

Eating an elephant one bite at a time -
Recently acquired Master Creations Coon gap Sawmill Silver edition. I seek out a challenging kit or project to build over the long winter months. This kit includes figures, detailed interior, lights, smoke generator, fast clock, sound system. Apparently the computer board will sync sound and light to a 24 hour fast clock that adjusts the sight and sounds of a sawmill. I'll have time to study the instructions and perhaps pick up some additional details. Should offer up some sleepless nights. Anyone ever built this kit?

They have announced if tariffs continue, they will be bankrupt and out of business in 60 days or so.
Thanks. Almost sounds like scare tactics to me, but I thought I heard that China's about ready to start negotiating. But, I don't know. I generally try to avoid the controversial topics when possible. I almost exclusively buy second hand, so I don't follow a lot of that stuff that much.

The news is so full of misleading and conflicting information that all we can do is wait and see. In the meantime, I now have four SXT engines that are either enroute or on the property in addition to my original fleet. In the spirit of this thread, I'll post some pics of what I now have that is part of my current buying spree.
