What are you buying this Month?

I love Downtown Deco structures. While I don't have any of these specific kits, I have some of the same basic structures labeled differently. Randy has been re-issuing some older kits with different signs. If you don't already have experience with his kits, the secret is in the painting of them. The more time that you take painting, the better they stand out on a layout.
Thanks for the input. I've mixed/used more epoxy in the last week than in the past 10 years. That said I beginning to appreciate the advantages of epoxy. One thing about good quality kits - they force you out of your comfort zone to try new things.

Got my first two turnouts yesterday at the local train store (thanks Model Train Crossing!). Got a left and right hand 30 degree remote turnout. Throwing by hand with the built-in switch is easy. Not sure I want to spring for the DCC controllable ones since these weren't cheap! They're in a temporary setup currently, but they seem to be working OK. Nice to finally make some more track progress!

I've been trying not to buy anything. I already have too much stuff packed away in boxes.

However, I did buy this Topps 2022 Factory Baseball Hobby Box - 660 Cards Included complete MLB Set for $30 on eBay. The 2022 season was the last season my Mom followed the Orioles. I have faith she is watching baseball in heaven.

Those are nice cars; they will look good on your layout!
Their well worn, with various marks and scratches, but for $40 inc. I'm not expecting nearly new, I'll see what their like when they arrive, I think with a re-paint they'll look quite good, importantly for me, these are a lightweights so will work on my layout, the UP cars I have (85' heavyweights) are too long

I mentioned in my layout's thread that I'm building new abutments for my bridge. The bridge shoes arrived yesterday so maybe tomorrow (Sunday) I can paint and install them. Then I think I'll experiment with foam for the abutments before building the "final" ones

Mike,

They are a lot smaller than I anticipated BUT are incredibly strong. The only thing you have to do is to make sure that the "joins' are properly aligned - that is the only thing these little things cant do. However, once in place, they will hold the two pieces together like poo to a blanket :)

As I am (apparently) repairing, upgrading, modifying my existing little "test track layout" I figured I had better buy some rail joiners so have 10 packs of Peco's on their way from Fifers Hobbies :)

For those who don't know what Rail Joiners are 😅

Might not be this month, but next major purchase is probably gonna be some Kato corrugated santa fe cars. I've got an Alco PA that currently has no trainset, and I've gotten a tongue lashing before for having it pull freight cars. It just don't look right pulling my bi-level Metra cars either!
