I didn't see one of these beyond the 9th, so I thought I'd try opening one. A few weathered cars I did. I've got a long ways to go on this to get to the quality of a lot of the weathering I've seen here. Y'all do a fantastic job, and I always enjoy looking at the pics.

Thanks for starting us off, and nice weathering on the box cars!

I finally got myself a new camera, been playing around with it.

Here's a shot of the BNSF Yard in Denver, a couple of SD75Ms.

Really like those locos, they are beauties. What did you get for a camera? Great pics.

Thanks, I appreciate that. The locos are Athearn Genesis, and Mark here on the forum installed Tsunami decoders and LED lighting. It sounds great.

The camera I got was the Panasonic Lumix ZS5. Best Buy has them on sell for $197. It's one of the best point & shoot cameras you can get. It also has 720 HD video capability.

I will make note of that camera. I would like to get a camera that I can get better pics with without spending a fortune. I realize that my lousy pics have more to do with my lack of photography knowledge than my camera, but want something that makes it easier.

It sure does make things easier. It has an IA (Intelligent Auto), and is very good with wide angle lens and 12x zoom perfect for taking photos of your trains.

When I took that photo, I set it to the IA setting, and used a cheap $20 tripod. Also, if you noticed that photo is 16:9 resolution, which is another cool feature.

Been playing around with I Photo....I also have a Panasonic Lumix camera (DMC-TZ3) which is a few years old, but it is (in my opinion) a great little camera....My wife and I love Lumix camera's.

Love the warbonnets in that exeedingly good photo, Mike.

Gary, I am a huge fan of B&W versions of our model images. You have a very nice one there, and I also like the vignetted image...very creative and cool. Reminiscent of times gone by.

Here is mine.

44-tonner outside City Produce. But I really took the picture to show why I'm dissatisfied with the appearance of this loco. The cab windows are too small and the thickness of the plastic is intrusive. It would be nice to make a new cab, but would I ever do that?

Aaaaaahhhhhhh! The Weekend! And with it my favorite thread...

I have been doing a couple of things in the workshop area at the Engine house for the Quarry. Added a workbench (easy scratchbuild):

This afternoon I put in some tools I painted up during the week.

Thanks Michael, thanks Crandell, both of you have awesome images....WOW Ray that is amazing work.

Very nice stuff Gents! (as usual)
I haven't done anything new lately so I'll recycle an old pic of the layout coming down.

BTW: Has anyone seen the Feb '11 Walthers flyer, and if so what's with the crane's boom on the cover?

Very nice pictures everyone. If not for this thread I may not be as motivated to work on my layout. The motivation is not so I can share it, but I like to see what others can accomplish with the same resources I have. It's a great source for ideas. Keep up the good work!

I snapped a couple of progress pics of the town of Wells. I need to figure out how to take better, in focus pictures with my cheap camera. Some day I guess. For now you get the general idea.

This one looks like an unfinished movie set. I need LOTS of details and weathering to make it look right. At least the kit is painted.

Crandell,,nice shot!! Love the bridge.
Ray, my eyes hurt lookin at the pics! Let alone me ever trying that stuff again! Nice!!!

Here's a shot from the show last weekend. The SD24's got a good 4 hour run Saturday with 65 cars in tow. Nary a hiccup from the group!

Karl, that is a wonderful image you have there. It is so nicely lit, great angle, and it looks very convincing. As is typically the case, the trip pin gives it away. :p

I was rummaging through an old photo box and found a a rare photo taken of N&W J #607. I can't quite place the location, but it looks familiar.
