I am making myself promise to have at least one picture this week. I finally have the first part of my shelf up so I can show at least some progress.

Doing some more work on my coaling station today. I made these embossed imprints of the roof panels in aluminum foil. They've been painted on both sides with rusty metal primer and will be cut up and glued into position on rotted looking rafters so it looks like a wind-torn rusted steel roof.

Well, Its been awhile since I shared a photo in WPF

I have been working on my new layout since the old one had to be torn down, the new one is smaller but I'm looking forward too it just as much.

Here are pictures of the track work so far with nothing being final, I still my change and alter some things. The track on the bottom right that appears to veer off the table will lead too the future removable staging yard that I have yet too start.

Overall it's going quicker then the last layout probably because this time around the benchwork was assembled for the most part, and I didn't have to go out and buy the Styrofoam, track, and cork.

And this photo is something I got while I was in Atlanta, they appear too be windmill turbines on flat cars, the picture is a little fuzzy because I was in a car and didn't have much time too capture the photo. Thought they where interesting and big!

Two more new acquisitions.

The SD60M is a RPP shell on a dummy chassis painted by the previous owner.

MR&T #1027 is from the 2003 run of Athearn SD40-2's, RTR. It was offered at the same time as MR&T #1934. I'd love to get #1934 & the new #2009 coming out here soon. I intend to weather this unit to make it look like its been through years of differed maintenance, power hour loan to BNSF.

Paul - get the MU hoses and cables between the locomotives together and you'll have fistfights about whether it's a model or the prototype...

As for my recent accomplishments...

My youngest nephew at the throttle (note: always give them a sound equipped loco!):

I'm playing around with Sergent couplers - here is a comparison shot between a #148 (#5 head), #156 (long shank #58 head), and a Sergent (compatible shank - they have a "scale" one as well).

I also bought 3 more BPRR painted Atlas GP38s which inspired me to finally get my act together and finish decaling my fleet - they also had their trucks silvered and TCS A4X w/BEMF decoders installed:

I just bought the MR&T 1027 as a shell a few weeks back. It's probably the hardest to buy of the MR&T engines, as I rarely see it offered. The 1934 however, you can find at a few places on the net, but they are still scarce.

I wish Athearn would make the OLD MR&T scheme....my favorite of them all.

Also interiesting to note that the CF7 they are doing for the Troy and Northern is painted in Milwaukee Road colors...reminiscent of the old Milwaukee Road RSC-2 #988 which ran for many years under the Trans Northern name, and in the same paint scheme it worked in for TN's Chippewa River Railroad. Just an observation...

Here's an update on the coaling station project. I've got some of the rafters in. After they've dried sufficiently they'll be painted a nice weathered gray.
