thats what i thought it was that i second guessed cause the top of rail lubricator uses the exact same unit just a different rail attachtment. are the pics you post pics that you have personally taken

Ya, I took them personally. The track chart is very neet to flip through. I found a site that has some on them for free (wish I would have found it before I bought the book for $10). It is http://www.multimodalways.org/archives/rrs/

That site is great, all the maps and so much info. What book are you talking about you purchased?

It is an employee book by the looks of it. It shows what type of rail is in each section, the degree and direction of each curve, the amount of superelevation, when each bridge was re-decked, along with any and all information that one would ever want to know about a track.
