Great vid about a beautiful locomotive!!! Thanks for posting the link.
Outstanding, Wish we could have something like that stateside.
I woudl have thought it would have a screw feed instead of coal being shoveled in, or was that just for the camera?
Nope shovelling coal just like they did back in the day!
fantastic!! im so happy to see all those people supporting it, build that in the states and i swear 3/4 of the nation will cry and boo because its so dirty and pollution and all that kind of stuff.
Wow, a new hand bomber in 2009. Who would have thought it? I loved the way he opened the steam cocks and sucked in that video guy.

Watching the people on the platform brings up a question: Do British steam engines have bells? In the US, they would have been ring the bell like crazy as a warning. It does make me wonder why a nation that has about 1/6 the population of of the US can raise the money and interest to build a brand new steam engine when we're lucky to get a few 60 year old engines out on excursion once or twice a year.

None of our engines, steam, diesel or electric have bells (just whistles on steam and horns on everything else) which is a shame because I love the sound they make! To me they are iconically North American!
