Nice looking ore cars Greg, I was looking at them also....give us a review when you get them. The Grandt line box cab will fit real well into your scheme of things, how does it run? any pick up problems at a switch? just curious on how well it performs.
I'm still trynig to sort out the electrical connections as the instructions are poor. The pickups are made from bent pieces of wire, so there's lots of potential for it not working so well.
4 wheeled critters have inherent pickup weaknesses especially when it comes to switches, so I have electrofrog switches with no dead spot. All the switches are HO code 83 Shinohara #2 wyes...
They're the most compact switches I could find, and will fit nicely with small radius curves.
I like the way they are hand laying all of that lifesize track & adding all of those pieces of flat bar under the track & welding them. Lots of work for a shortline scenic RR, if that's what it is. COOL
I want to lay some 7 1/2 inch gauge track in the yard and run "something" on it (not sure exactly what yet). That's as close to a real railroad as I can get.
Paint up an HO scale figure to look like yourself, then put it on one of those rail cars where you need to move the handle up and down to get anywhere. (Bachmann makes them) Tooter on a Scooter
