I own a 4.5hp Shop-Vac that I store under my layout for general cleaning and vacuuming between the tracks. I lost the mount and somehow forgot all about it. I was going to buy one and mount in somehow depending on the mount. I contacted Shop-Vac and told them I was looking for a mount and they said all parts are guaranteed and asked for my address and said one was in the mail. Not much wall space available; but I found just enough to hold the vac. No studs where I wanted the mount so I did have a piece of 1x6 the exact length that I needed. Put a coat of Golden Oak on it and attached the board to the stud lines and the mount to the board. I need about another 8-feet of hose to reach everywhere; but it reaches about 3/4 of the layout and that's better than nothing. The mount had a quick release; but I don't want to take it down, it's perfect where it is, out of the way and doesn't fall over setting it on the ground.

If you're like me and have one of these vacs and lost the mount, they're free for the calling.
