I wanted to send a new message on one of my threads with attached photos. On my computer photo file they are all correct, level and square.
When I attach the chosen photos below the text, they appear tilted 90° to the right !!
I checked the possibilities but nowhere it is possible to correct that. I wait for some help if possible. With all due respect to the readers, I can't send such
a weird message. Thank you beforehand.
Sorry, I meant "tilted to the left", which comes out the same anyway.
Its something that's been happening to a few members lately. There was a discussion about it in the Coffee Shop a while back.

just, open the ticket in a photo app (or Paint) in Windows, and save the picture as png or give it another name, that also fixes it. it looks like the problem happens on different forums (maybe all with the same software or backend), for me it was helping to save the pictures again as png not jpg.

Thank's, but I have another problem, which is I don't know anything about computers beside using them like typewriters and some other very basic things.
That is I don't know what you mean by "ticket" or png. I am not proud of myself and I am terribly sorry, it's all greek to me.
If you have time to explain me step by step, I would be extremely grateful to you.
But please don't feel obligated.
If you are on a Windows machine, double click on the photo in question. When the photo viewer opens, it may or may not be oriented correctly. If not, look for a little arrow curved in a partial circle and click on that until the photo is upright. Save it. That should fix it for posting anywhere.
This forum's software is not reading or ignoring the EXIF orientation data associated with the photo and is not correcting the orientation. This means you have to orient the photo yourself.
I understand Michael, as I said previously the photos on my computer are oriented properly (I know about the curved partial arrow).
When I click on "Attach files" below the post, I then choose my photo WHICH IS WELL ORIENTED, I double click and it appears tilted on the post !
There is no way then to reorient it. Impossible.

In that case, your browser is reading the EXIF information and orienting the photo for you.
While viewing the photo, you will need to re-save it and try posting again and see if that fixes it.
Thank's Michael, as I said I am a zero with a computer, so what do you mean by re-saving it ? Sorry.
In the Windows photo viewer, near the rotate button are three dots. Click on those dots and another menu opens. Select 'Save as' and click on OK on the box that opens.

When I click on the three dots it shows me different options, one is (translated from french) : "Define as", hopefully same than "save as".
Then come three more options : "Lock screen - Background - App tile", again translated, but no "ok" nor "yes".
I'm gonna try the "Lock screen option" eventhough I don't know what it means or what will happen.
I'll come back to you.

Set as lock screen, means it will be what you see when Windows wants your password or PIN. It will not help you.
Thank's for the info bnsf, I just tried again and obviously you're right, it doesn't help at all. Michael option seemed the best but my
computer doesn't show me the same options, too bad.
For now I am fed up, I give up, spending hours on the screen isn't my cup of tea, I rather go to the layout room. I lived almost seven
decades without computers and life was so stressless ! I know I am a dinosaurus...
I might one day carry on with my thread, attaching photos, and if some of them are tilted, too bad. There should be an option, on the
forum, to correct that.

today, all went smooth with the upload of my pictures. maybe you give it one more try. and about the "ticket" i really dont know what happend there, it looks like it autocorrect picture to ticket but dont ask me why

Have you told anyone what OS you're using to try to solve this problem with?
Sorry for my lack of knowledge in that matter steelwheels, but what's an OS ? The only thing I know is that it's a HP computer...
