Thanks guys and I also like the Wylie Coyote idea along with the 1/2 a truck concept. While bringing the portal forward (any amount) is a great idea, I have to agree with Jim regarding the room to do that.
As the portal is attached to a piece of 1/2" foam that is attached to the wall, I could dig the foam out and go back to the actual wall. That would give me a depth into the tunnel of about 5/8" - not much, but something.
Thanks for the ideas and input, gives me something to look at this evening and something different to do.
Thank you and you have got to be reading my thoughts.
After I took the picture I put a train beneath the bridge and a car on the bridge - it did look quite good if I don't say so myself but I maybe a tad bias.
Could you maybe build up the hill just a little bit above the tunnel, or at least paint a hill on the backdrop? It would look a little more like a tunnel than a bridge underpass if it had some earth above the tunnel entrance. On the other hand, you may already be figuring on adding vegetation above the tunnel to create that effect.
Still enjoy seeing the progress. Everything you've done so far looks great.
One step at a time my friend ... there will be something above the actual portal, although it wont be all that high due to the lift out section. But there will be something.
Making some progress on this lift out for this side of the tunnel:
Came to the conclusion that it was too flat and needed to be a little more contoured. That is what I am doing now and will do for the other lift out as well in due course.
Last night I visited the "Coffee Shop" where there was talk about music - that visited prompted this video update. All I will say is that weather conditions over "Tootsville" this morning weren't conducive to smooth flying
Thanks mate. I didn't pan right cos that's where all the "stuff" from the town went so I could do the vid
Actually, right now, I am looking at my monitor and the threads through the windows of "Sully's Tavern" via the Freight Shed doors! Makes for interesting viewing though
