Hi all! New to this forum.
I'm moving to a new place in January which will give me space to run my trains for the first time in a long while. I will be able to take a corner of a garage with 2 hollow core doors for my N-scale empire
I have two trackplans for critique:
The first plan is a huge spaghetti bowl.
Pros: Ridiculously long mainline run (seriously: at a scale speeds, its around 5 minutes for a full circuit!!), yard ops and switching don't foul mainline, lots of operation.
cons: Not a single square foot without track, cost in track alone in the multiple thousands, before getting to scenery
This is my next track idea, which is only partially formed
Pros: much better scenic possibilities, less cost (so far)
cons: mainline run might be a bit dull compared to the twists and turns on the first plan
The branchline has all the siding because its an exploded version of my current layout, turned into a point to point. I will probably change the little 3-track yard inglenook to be at the left, at the start of the branch line instead of the end.
