been a busy week here at home. I did get everything off the smelter area and vacuumed down and i painted about half of the board a sand color. After that dried a couple of days later i laid down track and placed the buildings on the layout where they should be. I like it! Its open plan makes for more to be placed. I need a couple of parking lots for the people who work there to have a place to park. Also will need a place for the slag pit as well. I ran out of straight track for the Hayden Jct. run so i need to get one more pack and i have everything else for the track runs. Shots below of the fun. Smokey

Smokey, it's coming along quite well. The smelter is quite impressive.
That smelter was a bear to put together. I made a few mistakes but i was able to clear them out and fix the plan. I also got two other kits from N scale architect. I got the fuel station and last night i was finally able to get 2 of the mine gantry kits so there are on the heading my way list. I was able to build a building for shipping and receiving. also got the Republic plastics that had a building for there factory. Republic plastics burnt down in 2010 and they didn't build back so not sure where they went but about 50 people lost there jobs from that fire. anyway, right now i am building two sub stations for 6the smelter and mine. I have made around 10 of those wood power line models for the display. i have a shot or two of the electrical work. Smokey

I made some changes to my internet and now am in the fiber optic internet. Also went out and got a new mat for working on the kits. some new supplys as well. got a bunch of goodies to help me with the models. I was pretty worn out with the sharpies. I got new drill bits for the hand drill two new handles for them too. Now i am on another run. I need cars and trucks. Around 20 would be good. a few more would be better. I finished the fueling station. and also bought a sand tower but i need to check out a few pictures of them to see what colors and what was rubber lines and then the metal piping is. Have a couple of shots below. See you later

Well, my reply disappeared, I think
@troyphoto 's Ceiling Gophers must have grabbed it. That fueling station turned out really nice! Who makes that?
I need cars and trucks. Around 20 would be good. a few more would be better
One can never have too many cars and trucks for a layout.
Deacon KC, The fuel station is made by N scale Architect. kit number is #10031 and there site is thenarch.com phone number is 6077468416. I got mine on line but i gave you all the info you should need. Its a really great to build.
Santafewillie Got a mess of them at ebay today! I will show them off when i get them
Thanks Smokey! I'll hunt that up.
I have had great service with that company.
Been working on the electric stations but needed a break as the super small wire that is to be bent in the proper shape has wore out my eyes so i am taking a break. The fuel station complex and the sand towers are also finished.I need a few days to regroup and will then take another stab at it. I have the 2 mine towers to build, the two service buildings to build. I have to do the cut away for the mine and the track. the loop of the track around the mine. The tracks above the mine too. plenty of stuff coming. Deb was going thru the different orders and she told me what i have spent on the rr i was kinda high. like $2000.00 plus. Thats for a little over a month.I guess i need to kiss up a bit and make her a sweaty again. She will check her own stuff for her hobbies and have heart flutters too. hehe, The fun just keeps building. I have a couple of shots of the finished fuel station and the sand towers. It will be a bit before i post again. Gonna take a break and go fishing. laters all, Smokey

i didn't go fishing as the weather is threatening to break bad. the fish are pretty smart as when the weather changes they head for deep water and i don't have a boat. I stayed inside and worked on the town side of the layout. Its drying right now. I am using some of the old mountain and village and making it less as high. It came out pretty good. been kinda busy around the house and also the layout. I got a rr crossing kit that i modified to two track as they didn't have that option for Kato track. Thats ready for a paint option. I need to say that it is a desert scene and the roads were mostly asphalt but had a sandy kind of color to it. Rains would wash it all down and then the winds would kick up the sands and the road would get that sandy issue all over again. Anyway, i need to paint that crossing. I am also working on the gantry for the mine. And in between I found a Micro engineering kit for a older time gas station. The flying horse gas station is a perfect station for the little one horse town. Have about 3 shots of the fun

Smokey, that plaster cloth looks really good. I will use that on the front of my layout, much simpler than my previous idea.
I plan to use clam molding on the facing front with fabric on the front side that will cover to the floor. I like working with plaster wrap it works out really well.
Been finishing up the gas station and it is now finished and on the layout. I finished the ramp for trains to get to the mine itself. Now i am having a hard time getting the mine cover in place. It forms a tunnel in a loop so the mine can be finished above it. I have shots below of this fun. Smoke

That station turned out really well.
Wait till you see the fire dept. i am building. I have two fire trucks and some other stuff coming. Will post shots when i get them finished
have a shot of how the town will look. Its not final but gives you an idea. also the fire house is finished but the engines are not here yet. I have been working on the mine side of the layout. I got it real close so i can build up the foam where it is needed and will get plaster cloth and drywall mud to finish it out. Shots below, Smoke
