Here are a few shots of the beginning of my layout as well as my On30 Connie. The engine has been weathered to represent a well used engine on a logging line.

The layout is starting slow due to my project schedule right now at the shop but I am finding a couple of hours a week or so to work on it. The scene shown in the photos will eventually be covered with cut timber, stumps, standing trees and a lot of forest litter, consistent with the Oregon Coast Range that it represents. I am planning on more then 100 large standing trees on the finished layout.

The layout will eventually have a landing and small logging camp with a few camp cars, saw filers shed, etc.

As I get further along I will post more pics.

Logging and mining are my favorite model railroad industries. I don't like going deep into old mines but like to explore in areas like that and done that a bunch in the colorado high country and in remote canyon country of southern utah been to amazing old uranium mines, unbelieveble canyon shelf roads, abandoned and still used airstrips in unlikely places. Eventually want to build several trestles on my layout....and some switchbacks too.

Very nice and interesting work on your layout there.
