So awhile back I came across a parts locomotive, a Railpower C40-8w, at my local hobby shop, asked the price and was told only $5. So I took the offer and brought it home. The locomotive was in dire need of repair. Found that it was painted in Santa Fe. Not Prototypical, which I hated the thought of so I got the idea for a project. After a long destruction and reconstruction, I had got it at a point of paint. Most of the detail is scratch-built out of styrene.
is the locomotive I am modeling it
Here is the project
Still needing to buy more details, and decals. But she is almost there, its got broken gears, I still haven't fixed them. I lot of time and effort went into it and Im sorry for not having lots of pictures. Got about 5 or 6 more project locomotives and shells.
Santa Fe had 100 C40-8W, numbers 800 to 899.
I’m looking forward to photos of your NS version.

Santa Fe did, this one was numbered, 806 or 807, I can't remember, but they had the Gull Wing cabs, this locomotive didn't, I searched for weeks trying to find a cab on eBay but couldn't. So this is what it came to be.
I belive it was built for the Hobby Shop, but got rid of it because it had a burnt decoder, and bad motor. They were really reluctant to sell it to me because they knew it had a decoder but didn't know what was wrong.
Update- Been awhile, hated how I spray painted it, gonna get something else to paint it, but I also to decide to revamp the cab. I never liked the headlight I had before, scratch-built a new one out of some styrene, its also embeded farther into the cab now. Built a new door too, terrible photo but you get the idea.
Cab work should be done other than windows and details. Rebuilding the front end now too.
Rebuilt front end, I think the next part is super detailing the entire locomotive.
