On the advice of some veteran members, I'm starting a new thread for the Pine Flat layout. After going back through the old thread, most of it is no longer relevant so getting more or less a clean start. Theme is basically the same; freelance 1930s backwoods sawmill operation, but a different layout configuration with more space, new track plan with more switching, off layout staging, etc.

Unpacked most of the remaining train stuff boxes yesterday, sorting inside stuff from outside. I don't have a lot of space inside, so for now bringing in stuff that I can put on the small workbench. Did manage to get some workbench time yesterday afternoon and evening. Started a new topic in "Buildings & Structures" section.
Y'all have a good day and take care.

Not much going on with the layout. Layout space still occupied with moving boxes being unpacked, sorted, and moved inside. Waiting until we can get a recycler or trash hauler to take away the big pile of empty boxes, packing materials, etc. Still a bit chilly too as I hesitate to fire up the propane shop heater with all the cardboard, styrofoam, etc. still piled up. Probably be at least another month or so before we start any meaningful work on the layout itself.

The Pine Flat themed diorama is being discontinued...
After getting back to the workbench, trying to finish up some detail castings, I've discovered that my eyesight, motor skills and patience are just not up to the task of model building at the level I wanted to achieve with the Pine Flat layout. With that in mind, I am discontinuing the Pine Flat diorama theme and resurrecting my old Texas South East RR. It will be a more conventional model railroad with a transition-era industrial switching theme.
Thanks to everyone who looked, liked, and commented.

i dont know why but i would love to have a shed like this.
i mean dont get me wrong i have all i need but sometimes iam dreaming of having a shed like this just for me and my projects, this would be so cool :)

I have access to about a third of the area which is actually more space than I'll ever use. The rest of the space has D#2/SIL's treadmill, exercise bike, and storage.

I'm so glad to hear you are not giving up! 😁

I've lost much of the strength and dexterity in my left hand, and the right is not far behind, but I can still snap Lionel tracks together. Taking them apart is challenging, but I manage.

If you can I would enjoy following a thread about the Texas Southeast RR

Len I don’t find a new layout thread here on the forum. BUT, I see you started one at MRH forums. Is that were it will be?

TomO,
I'm going to start a thread here too. The way the forum is set up here, I'll start a couple of new threads for the layout, rolling stock, etc.
I've been a member and subscriber at MRH almost since day one mainly for the free magazine and later for the Running Extra. I started a TSE thread over there 5 years ago, but didn't keep it up. Had a lot of stuff going on then, but now we're settled in for the long haul here in Cheyenne.

I like the way the forum here is set up, but what I really like about being here are all the good friendly folks and model railroaders. I may post some over at MRH but this is gonna be home for me.

may i ask whats MRH? dont get me wrong, i love this forum here. but its always great to know other US Forums with useful tipps and tricks or layout showcases :)
