I was wondering. Is there any possible connection between both ends of the layout to get an empties in / loads out or the opposite ?
" À la John Armstrong" !

Interesting rgeiter, I suppose it will be possible to manually "load" the cars by way of the access hole in the middle, well hidden behind the backdrop.
With 4 tracks I imagine you'll have 2 without cars, ready to receive empties and 2 with loads ready to be picked up.
2 empty trains and 2 full in the same operating session it gonna be great to operate ! Well done !
It’s more for storage. I’ll probably only use it when I want to change out consists. Otherwise it’ll just be storage. Didn’t want that space to go to waste. I still have about 150 freight cars in a storage tub yet. Need to find more yard space!

Coal yard backdrop completed for now.

It’s been a while. Here is one of my recent industry builds. Using the Walthers “ Allied Rail Rebuilders” building and the Walthers traveling overhead crane, I came up with “Brotherhood Steel fabrication” ( you Fallout fans will get the name!)

Using a lot of the 3D printed items my co-worker made for me, I’m pleased with how things turned out. Still have a few more things to do though. Those silver coils are absolutely gorgeous! I am having him make a few more .

Updated cab ride. What really shocked me was how the ballast looks from the view of the camera. My view, from the top down looks totally different. Gonna fix that this afternoon. Other than that, I see a few more kinks in the track. Nothing major but they are there nonetheless. Enjoy.

Good Job Bob!

A lot smoother ride vs the previous. Ballast looks fine - sure there are spots, but there are always spots.

Keep it up..
