Double Butt Syndrome: That annoying and incessant whiny stuttering sound we tend to make when confronted with a problem of insurmountable odds of infinitesimal magnitude.

But, But I can’t do that because…

Use mostly when confronted with long and tedious Tado lists.

Sound familiar? I know I suffer from it. Then again I made the upper loop bridge today with only marginal use of but, but.

Enjoy

Fergie

Ps BTW Ken I knew where your mind was! tsk tsk

Do we consider you Mr. #1000? Considering it IS the 1000th reply...

Got the Athearn Freightliners in today:D I have one half built allready, i'll paint her up tomorrow.

Hi gang and happy 100th plus! Special acknowledgment to the 1000th poster, Steve (I think).

I don't know about you, but I have noticed the building excitement of Christmas on the forum for the last few weeks. It sure is nice to know that I'm not by myself in feeling like a boy filled in anticipation of Christmas with all the excitement of sharing, the outpouring of love, compassion, and happiness that seems to be everywhere. What a great time of the year!

Flo! What the heck! Give me a virgin eggnog please.

Flo, I'm on a diet so I'll skip the 'Nog - just bring me the usual cuppa joe...

Good morning gents [and Claudia]! Well, those of you who lament the large influx of RTR into the hobby may not like hearing this, but I succumbed to a similar concept with gift-wrapping yesterday:I bought some pre-decorated gift bags.:o I'm absolutely terrible at wrapping and this was a timely solution to a project I always dread.

...To those of you who are politically correct, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! ROFLMAO!!!
Darrell, when I was in a Target store yesterday paying for the gift bags, the cashier [a college-aged girl] said "Happy holidays" to me:rolleyes:. I smiled and replied, "Merry Christmas to you too!" At that, she got a confused half-smile on her face, like she wasn't sure if I was being friendly or aggressive...

WAHEY Ken, 100 pages and still going strong, at this rate 1000 pages will be here soon.
Steve - looks like congrats are in order for you, too, since you made Post# 1000!

Rex; Better not let the PC Police see that message, they'll be acomin' fer ya.

As some of yall know, I am also somewhat of a weather nut. Not really an amateur forecaster, but I'm gettin' there.

Long range models do indicate the possibilty of a LONG HOT summer. So if yall ain't got no AC in yo' vehicles, here is sumpin yall need ta look at.

Yeah well...Bring'em on, along with the ACLU! I'll show them what a real American is made of...Grrrrrr! ;) .

KenL: Your RTR gift wrapping beats my scratch built:D . I will never forget the year that I thought I would be clever by ordering and paying extra for wrapped gifts from a large department store on the Internet. They came in fancy sacks! Boy was I HOT!

I also had the same experience at Wal-Mart when I was greeted by "Happy Holidays". I replied, "Merry Christmas" and got a big smile and a wink back. Ain't no way the politically correct can put us down and out.

What are the odd's on getting to page 100 and post 1000 at the same time, pretty cool stuff i recon, anyhow the drinks are on me, rack em up Flo.
We had our annual charity give away today, We at Leyland Trucks raised £30,000 GB pounds and Paccar our owners equalled this so we gave away £60,000 to local charitys, the best bit was when a little girl with motor neurone disease got a special bike she can ride without falling off, a real tear jerker. It makes you value what you have got
Today is my little girls birthday, she's two
this is Gemma with her cake

Flo, my usual please. Two more " mandatory " work days left. I can't wait!
Talk about bad timing. I already used up all my vacation time this year, so last week I used the last of my sick leave, thinking what could possibly happen in four days. Well I caught a cold over the weekend and I was so sick at work Monday I didn't hardly know which way was up, but I couldn't leave. I bet "THAT" don't happen again. I feel a lot better now.

Everyone have a great evening.

Stan.

Ken, RTR gift wrapping? :D I don't understand. I love to do that "perfect" wrapping job on someone's gift. :D

CJ, You reckon Lowe's is missing a window unit and generator?

Rex, T-Rex vs the ACLU, what a massacre that would be. Sick em, Rex, I've got a 100 running on you! :D

Steve, That's a doll ya got there! I bet she's a hoot to be around. What a glowing persona!

Stan, Here's hoping you feel better soon. :) It's tough to work sick (been there, done that)

Morning All!!:D :D

Flo, you sing the harmony! The rest of you COVER YOUR EARS:eek:   !!

Deck the halls with trains and trolleys!
Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la

'Tis the season to be jolly!
Fa-la-la-la-la, La-la-la-la

Don we now our Bachmann steamers
Fa-la-la, La-la-la, La-la-la

Brass is something for us dreamers
Fa-la-la-la-la..........la---la---la--la!!!!!

.......And I heard him exclaim as he roared out of sight "Man that new Walthers catalog is sweet"-Well, that's what I heard:p .

Merry Christmas!!!

Johnny

I have to say I think that controversy is being blown out of proportion this year. I'm a Christian, and proud of it. Yet "Happy Holidays" doesn't bother me, probably since I grew up on the east coast and recall when it was simply a way of saying "Well, since I can't tell if you're Christian, and should say 'Merry Christmas', or Jewish and I should be wishing you a 'Happy Hanukkah', I'll say 'Happy Holidays' and include both."

Seems some Christians are taking it as a way to exclude them. I prefer to think of it as a way to include folks of the Jewish and other faiths. Don't get me wrong, I say "Merry Christmas", but I do understand why retailers and others choose a less specific greeting and don't think they do it to offend.

I'm with you!!! Let's take America back and get rid of the PC liberals!! (Oh, boy! I KNOW that's gonna start a riot here!!)

When I was a kid, we prayed in school, once in the morning and all day through finals week! LOL

Maybe it's old age, but I'm getting mighty tired of political correctness. Just my .02 worth!

Once more, for those of who care:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Darrell, the pot-stirrer, quiet...for now

I tend to be PC but then again I'm a civil servant and have been "sensitized" to certain sensetivities. Certain aspects of the "PC" I do agree with as I know what it's like to be humiliated and harrased. Saying that I also feel the PC police do tend to go too far and to extremes and on that note I'll wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Seasons Greeting and a Festive New Year and hoping, despite our diversities, differences, short comings, political leanings we will continue to be friends for a long time to come!

And yes a Christmas Tree will always be that! A tree that helps to signify, Peace, goodwill, family and friends gathering and sharing the hopes for happiness in the years to come.

Morning Everyone. Miss Flo,cup of hot chocolate please. I too would like to wish everyone on the forum a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a wonderful New Year. I hope that Santa brings you everything asked for,and may it be all you hoped for. I have added to my KADEE car fleet a somewhat unique freight car. I have added on of their specialty cars. It is the 2005 Christmas Car. A bright red PS-1 8",6panel door boxcar, that has all white ladders, running board, brake gear, etc. Anyway,a most unique car if I say myself, and I do.The message on the side says Merry Christmas from Kadee Quality Products. Reporting numbers KDC 003. .The only thing other than the fact it is a ready to run,is that it cost over $40.00. But for a limited run car,to me it was worth it. Merry Christmas all.CU later.William.:)

Hi Flo, A big cup o' coffeee and a nice BLT please. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakuh, Have a Good Kwanza, lets see, I don't think I've left anyone out. If I have Happy ________________ (insert current celebration here), to you.

Whazat? No Flo I AIN'T been here in a while. Been TFB. Tuesday I got sent home from work because everyone is on vacation, and they didn't want me to sit around and twiddle my thumbs until Jan 3rd, so they sent me home. In that time one of the employees discovered I was a computer tech and asked me over to his house to look at something.

I wound up building,(really reassembling), about 20 computers for him. I made sure they worked, got wireless network cards, installed them and then networked his house with 6 of them. The rest we donated to his daughters elementary school. Wound up getting a little extra $$$ for Christmas. Not bad for a couple o' days "work". Part is going to basic materials for my new layout.;)

Used the extra cash to buy my wife two things. One a gag gift, and the other a very nice piece of jewelry. The gag is a very "naughty" nightgown. The gown is so small that I think there is more thread holding it together than fabric in it.:p:p Inside the gown I will place the jewelry.;) I did this about 30 years ago on our second Christmas together as well. I wanna see if she remembers that with this one, or have the same reaction and throw it into the garbage like the last time before she at least sees the real gift I got her.:D

Looking forward to going back to Rex's layout after the Holidays. Getting that itch bad to do some more work on his! Only thing I dread is that the man is a slave driver! ;) When I get there, he takes his bullwhip down and if something isn't to his liking, WOW do I get it.:eek::eek::eek: The worst part is he takes my coffee away! Every now and then I do get to run a train, and if I'm real good, I get to even blow the whistle on his new Tsunami.:D:D:D:D:D

Merry Christmas Rex ! You really are one of the good ones! Give your sweet wife, Caroline, a hug for me.

Hi everyone! Hope all of you have done your shopping and can now relax and enjoy the happiness of the Christmas season.

Note: To include or exclude has nothing to do with saying "Merry Christmas". It is a right for an individual to express their personal good will to others in observance of that individual's holiday. If someone said "Happy Hanukkah" to me as a Christian, I would say "Thank you" and think that was very nice of that person.;)

Fergie: Thank you for your best wishes and the beautiful Christmas tree card. The large bay windows are ideal for your neighbor (Santa) to spot your tree when he flies over in his sled.:)

L&N Castle: How about a picture of your new boxcar? or fix a Christmas scene up and enter the photo contest.

CJ: What am I going to do with you. You ask for this week off to take care of shopping and now you tell us that you have been moonlighting. I believe that I am going to have to put some barbs in the tail of that whip.
