Evening all, Flo a cold glass of water please.
Me and Cathy just got back from Christams shopping. Went to the local mall and to Wal-Mart. Finally got it all done. ( I think )
Rex - I know what you mean about the "gift wrapping" I have a hard time with it also.
Johnny - I seen the Polar Express, I think its great! I believe its OK for younger kids, my grandson loves it he's three and a half, but that's just my opinion. :)

Everyone take care.

Stan.

Hi Flo! Coffee for me dear. Nah, I hadn't been in here a couple days, just been too busy and none of it had to do with Christmas.
Went to Rex's yesterday, had a great time as usual. Posted a couple of pic's in the wpf to show what I finiished for him. His equipment is smooth running through it if I say so myself. I could make it smoother but, then it would lose it excellent prototype appearence. Yeah I know Flo, excuses, excuses.

Stan, one day sfter New Years, you can find your way over here and we'll hook up and do something, even if its just "fanning at the platform", in Irondale. We see all kinds of stuff there. One time we saw a DDX flat with three containers on it, and according to the placard on it, it was loaded with either C-4 or something similiar. Figured it was going over there to the Anniston Army depot for disposal.
Wed while I was there, I saw and for once even got a picture of it as it moved by, a ATSF/BN GP-9. I'll be a postin's that one soon!.

Thats a great game to from what I heard, but I gotta say Schottenheimer was right with the prediction on the radio "We're going to win that next game." [refering to the Colts]...

Just realized, we're about to break the 100 page mark, are we just going to let it keeo going?

nope to busy catching the Washington Dallas Game .. Whoa Man :D
Current score WSH-35 DAL-7. Close to end of 4th quarter. I'm dying again!!!

You are obviously a Redskins man:(. Don't like the skins at all. I've been a Cowboy's fan since I can remember.

Favorite story about the rivalry;

When Tom Landry was the coach of the Cowboys he was approached to make one of the first VISA/MC commercials. The scene was this. He, dressed as a real cowboy, rides into a small western town on his horse, gets off and shakes off this dust. He walks up to the saloon, and pushes thru the swinging doors, walks up to the bar and orders a drink. Which he pays for with a MC card. He then turns and touts how its much better than cash or check because you aren't having to carry cash to pay for everything. His last line and scene was classic; "Use your Visa/MC when traveling...coz' you'll never know when you may be surrounded by hostile redskins." The camera backs out as he is holding the card, and you see him "surrounded" by the 4 defensive linemen from the WSH Redskins in full football uniforms. I thought that was hilarious.

Evening everyone, hope all your holiday plans and shopping are progressing or done. The wife and I went to the only party we attend, the Dalmation Club we belong to, was a nice afternoon, now to finish shopping this week. Hope to get some modeling done over the coming long weekend, we'll see. Guest that's about it for the night, may the reason for the season be with you.

Evening all, Flo give me the strongest thing you got to drink, been a little under the weather past couple of days.
cj - Sounds good to me, maybe we can hook up one day after the first of the year and see what we can get into. Sounds like a lot of rail fanning over there. I've got just four more mandatory work days this year and I'll be glad when they are over. I hope I get well before Christmas. I love watching the grand kids open their gifts on Christmas morning.:)

Everyone take care.

Stan.

Good Evening all! I hope today has been good for you and tomorrow will even be better.
Spent the day doing some ballasting and turnout work. I got to thinking that now that the layout is still half way cleaned up, it would be a good time to take my virtual tour photos. So, that's my plan for later this week. Otherwise, I believe that I will try and take care of all the odds and ends that keep piling up to do such as cleaning rolling stock wheels, build some needed kits, get my track bumpers finally in place, and on and on.

Steve: Wow! The work is really going good now. It won't be long and they will be framing your roof.

Go get'um SKINS!:D I have been a fan every since I lived up there over 30 years ago. George Allen's days

Good evening y'all!

Stan I hope you feel better soon.

Rex - I was briefly a Redskins fan, during the Dark Ages after Bob Irsay slithered out of Baltimore with the Colts in the dead of night in the Fall of 1984:mad: . Once we got the Ravens, I had to give them my total support ("can't serve two masters", yada, yada,...).

. . .
Well I did get an adequate amount of work done on the 'Belt: Finished latexing all the coal mine tracks and test-ran my SD38's on them; also 'paved' the dock area using leftover cork roadbed (for details, see my second reply in this week's WPF thread). Also did some more Christmas shopping (can't do it all online y'know!;) ) Now the only remaining challenge is to wrap all those gifts...

Finished up all my shopping last week and didnt have to go to the mall or Wal-Mart :D .. even took care of my Christmas this past weekend .. bought a GP-8 N&W and a ton of flex track .. so i have a start on things.. gotta Love Ebay .. now to design this monster :)

i'm waiting on a Walthers pulpwood truck and 5 Athearn trucks from eBay, my Christmas presents to myself!

Odd question, what music do you listen to while working on trains, or running them?

Btw Ken, you're responsable for page 100 on "normal" settings...

Sounds like a nice Gift-To-Self (GTS?) Josh.

As for page 100, this coffee shop thing may take off...:D

Anyone seen NZ Ken? I guess they had a bit of a riot in New Zealand the other day when a mass of Santa's got irate and started hurling things and causing a disturbance because they got upset with the commercialization of Christmas. What's the inside dope on this Ken?

Well, now that the tree is up, place decorated, cleaned, I think it's time to tackle the upper loop. Most of the track has been laid but I still have to do vertical and horizontal alligning, ballasting, wiring, two bridges, two tortoise switch machines... Does it ever end? NO!

Steve looks like things are going full bore for you and you're project. At least you don't have snow to worry about. I have relatives up in Aviemore, I'm told it's good skiing up there. How is the repairs/cleanup going with the layout?

Anyway time to haul butt chops

Fergie

PS anyone ever hear of Double Butt Syndrome?

Fergie, three words for you, University students, alcohol!! They seem to come out of the woodwork about this time every year. Thankgod it's only Auckland (we call it Dorkland!! LOL) http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3515997a11,00.html

What a waste of good booze.

We had a huge weekend in the garden, now it's the apartment for the big clean up. Holiday makers arrive on the 31st ( Americans living in Hong Kong) we have the whole of January booked out!!

I haven't had time to even set up the temp layout I made around the computer, oh well priorities I spose.

My family are all here tommorrow nite for early Xmas, then we driving down to Jans mum on Saturday for chrissy day, should be good, might get out on the jet boat for a spin.

Ken.

Fergie - I must confess I am too culturally-deprived to know what that is. Don't keep us in suspense --- enquiring minds want to know! (Does it by any chance involve a specific color?)

...Ohhh the nerve of those people, trying to smear Fergie's good name/reputation!

WOW! 100 pages!

Got busy this past weekend taking care of pre-Christmas stuff, so haven't had time to visit. Sure was a lot happening on the forum! I usually check in daily but don't post a lot. Love reading what everyone is up to, but have a hard time keeping everything straight in my mind. Never can remember who did what, when and why! Often don't even know what I am doing! LOL

Although it's early, I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone the happiest of holiday seasons. To those of you who are politically correct, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! ROFLMAO!!!

Thanks, also, for everyone's posts. What an enjoyable way of spending an hour (or two!).

PS: Claudia, if you can put up with a 3 year old and his 1 1/2 year old brother, you are more than welcome to play trains with us!

Darrell, quiet...for now

Hello everyone,
I took in a stray dog today, it was just a puppy and had no collar, i went round the neighbours but no one new who owned it, we got the dog warden to take it to the kennels, then an hour later the owners rang, they only live 300 yrds away, they were glad the dog was safe as it was missing all day, trouble is the kennels are 35 miles away.
NZ KEN sounds like you are having fun and games down there, hope you make the deadline on time,
KEN LARSON WAHEY Ken, 100 pages and still going strong, at this rate 1000 pages will be here soon.
FERGIE i, the walls are upto 6ft now, John the builder is working right up to christmas so should get a fair bit done, i have butchered the railroad somewhat and it's in a mess but i have a cunning plan up my sleave, there will be a small triangle shaped store room at the back of the house joining upto the garage, with a quick clout at the wall there will be some hidden staging room, about 7ft i reckon, this is a top secret project here so if anyone ask's "You know nothing";)
