Good morning all,

Fergie, we're all really impressed with the way you look in that North Pole garb! But really now - one copy of the image would have been enough don't ya think?:p ;)

I know, I know:o I'm still getting use to this site as it's a tad different from the "other" one. As said before I must have been sleeping when I made my first post.

Anyway gotta hang the lights up today and get ready for Christmas so Have one on me.

Later everyone

Fergie

Sabrina or is that Flo eyes ain't open enough to tell yet. A great big Rasberry Iced Tea and bag of chips. I know I know that is not the breakfast of champions but today I need to eat light. Going to Terre Haute to get my grandson Cole his Thomas the Tank train set and asseccories with the certificate I won on an online acution about a month ago. I can just see my daughter and son in-law now, When I took the electric Thomas into the hospital my daughter just rolled her eyes and said whatever. My son in-law thought it was great. So with this $250 certificate I should be able to come up with a good start for the first set he will be able to play with. Hi Ho! Hi Ho!! it is off to the toy store I go.

Hi all! How about some lunch Flo? A hot roast beef sandwich sounds good.

Larry:Cole is about the right size to ride on Thomas isn't he? :D Daughters, Daughters! They just dont' get it. All my daughter has to say about trains is, " Well Daddy, I am glad you...uh...found something to occupy your time in retirement. Seems...uh...nice:rolleyes:." Now my son-in-law, a rock geek (geophysicist), thinks its greater than flip-tops.:)

Hope you have a fun trip to Terre Haute. Is Clinton still on the map?

I'll have what Rex is having, you can add it to his tab... :D

Larry, you sure your not into the Thomas stuff as much as Cole? :D

CJ , Thanks for the comment on LGM. Maybe HE can build my retirement RR!

Fergie, Glad to hear you're getting used to the forum. We're happy to have you here. :)

Hello All,
rack em up, the drinks are on me.
hope monday was better Ken, hopefully you are now doing two steps forward to one backwards.
Grande, have you been practising lining up the smileys, nice work.
Well i got the decorations and lights up, the neigbours seem to be in competition to have the best festive light displays on there houses, i put three sets on the house, that will do for me, as long as the kids enjoy them thats all that matters, yeah right

have a look at this high output ballast machine being moved in the UK, it picks it up, lays it down and just about anything else you care to throw at it

Hey Flo, how about a nice cup o' java, and that roast beef sure does smell good. Give me one of those.

Since the topic seems to be sons and daughters,I started my kids out real young. When daughter was 18mths old she had a special pillow she sat on in the middle of the yard and would just turn around, and around, watching the trains as they ran on the layout.:) Never could get the boy to be interested. As they grew daughter's interest grew as well. Son's seemed to fizzle out totally. :( Pretty soon by the time she was 10, she could put together a craftsman kit of a car almost better than me. She even on one occasion, won two NMRA merit awards for her work, and took a first place at the regional convention. At 11 she discovered fast pitch softball and stuck with that until 3 years into college. She's gonna be 26 later this month and has started asking when is the layout going up. :o She's worse than yall are!:rolleyes:

Rex He is already to big to ride on these Thomas'. Theses things are probably HO scale or close to it. Got a figure 8 starter set, figure 8 expansion set, Duddly, Annie and Clarabell, Spencer, and a whole slew of other stuff I can not remember. Yeah Clinton is still there. OI had to think on that one because that is my son in-laws name. Clinton Carl, grandson Coleton Carl and his other grandad is Clayton Carl. I think Carl runs in the family. hehehehe

GM Thomas is OK I just want him interested in trains and Thomas is great fer the younguns.

Hi everyone, Flo I sure could use a cold glass of water please.
I haven't posted much lately, went back to my "other" hobby this week, Ham Radio. Hadn't been on the air in quite a while. I enjoy that hobby also. Orderd a new radio today, so I can't buy any trains this week. :(
Rex- Carey - Eric - I bet you guys had a great time this weekend, wish I could have been there. BTW who told the most lies ? :)
Don't worry, I'm still into the Worlds Greatest Hobby ! (TRAINS )

Take care everyone.

Stan.

Hi everyone, just thoght I'd say between ckecking Christmas lists(twice) Fergie missed some the first time. Anyway temperture here in Tulsa made it over 60 today, but by Weds. rain with possible white junk. Well good night to all.

Hi gang!
Bob: I thought about sending a list to Fergie, but the toys are all worn out from him playing with them long before Christmas. Besides he keeps all the good ones for himself.:D

Instead I went shopping last night via Internet. I know, I know, it takes all the fun out. Well some, but I hate going to the wrong store and then to another and another. I am the type of buyer that makes sure the store has what I want...go in...get it...and get out quickly. Bah! Humbug! (not really:D ) I love this time of the year. I just hate shopping:eek: .

FYI: Penny's has a heck of a good sale on the Internet.30-60% off. Use the discount code: JOLLY

Which Clinton are you refering to? Clinton, IL., or a person?

My "adopted" daughter, Laurie, was born in Clinton, IL. Her cousin is the young woman charged with murdering her 3 kids by letting her car roll into Clinton Lake with the kids in the back seat. Hit Laurie pretty hard. She used to help take care of those kids. I think the trial comes up early next year. Not a great topic to discuss, but that's what comes to mind when I see "Clinton". Sorry.

Speaking of Thomas trains, here's a couple of photos of the wooden track layout I put together for my grandsons, Ryne, 3, and Spencer, 1 1/2:

Ryne and Spencer "run" trains:

Probably have to start on an addition after Santa brings them more trains!! I had fun building it and they play with it all the time! Nothing like grooming a few future model railroaders, eh?

Darrell, proudly quiet...for now

Darrell - Kudos to you for helping keep the hobby alive for future generations!

Rex - I can identify with you on the Christmas shopping issue, the availability of online shopping has really made a difference these past years - and my car has alot fewer door scratches in it:D

Hey, Darrell, c'n I come over and play? :D Don't you just love those Brios (and the knockoffs, too)? Our granddaughters --- ages 9 and 3 --- can amuse themselves (and us) for hours when they come to our house. The only rule is that I get to play, too.

You've been talking to Lisa, Haven't you!!!:D

Which Clinton are you refering to? Clinton, IL., or a person?

Darrell, I was referring to Clinton, Indiana, north of Terre Haute. Just a little town where I was born back in...well...a long time ago:D. When I was in the 1st grade, my Dad became a coalminer and we moved to Owensboro, Ky, then to Providence, Ky and finally Alabama when I was in High School.

Fergie: Yes, Lisa has been giving us (Bob,Ken,Me) lots of little secrets about you.

NZRMac: Dialup:eek: :( ! I know you guys must be totally worn out from your move...but isn't it great?;) When do you start the LAYOUT(again):D ?

KenL: Yeah, no scratched car and no tranquillizers. Can't beat it!

Fergie, Some have been naughty and some nice.
Sleepy tonight, stayed up way to late last night making Christmas gifts, normal bed time around 8:30, didn't happen until 10:00, not good. With the Holidays I havn't done anything RR related, but still keep thinking about projects.
