Eric, don't hold us in suspense: DID you get those hoppers on eBay?

Nate has some more that aren't listed. We'll see what they sell for and go from there. With all the cash outlays on the RR lately, the trainshow this weekend may finish of the reserves... ;)

Hey, Grande man! Are you still going to the show on Sunday? I haven't made up my mind for Saturday or Sunday. I am caught between watching the football game or going to B'hm on Saturday. I thought about taking the OL, but that may put a damper on my expeditures. However, I would like her to know what it is all about and get to see the club layouts. I wonder if they give a discount at the door for CFOs. :D
Decisions! Decisions!

Hey Rex. It looks like we'll be going on Sunday after church. We'll probably be there around 1PM. I wish we could go on Saturday, but it's not to be this year.

Hey - is it time to ask that this topic be locked, and a new Coffee Shop topic started? We're at 31 pages as I write this...

I could go with rolling over the topic every week.

Why put a lock on a good thing all you have to do is click on favorites then click on save then it will come where you left off. I can't understand why someone wood want to start it over every week I know theres a lot of just off topic in here but there is also a lot of good stuff and to try find which coffee shop its in after you get 6 or so coffee shops locked would be real hard. you can also change your post on a page from 10 to 20 or 30 or 40 so you could be only on page 8 right now if you wanted I'm on 16 as I have 20 post per page set up in my prefferences. as thats what most forums run is 20 post per page and speaking of that 0ne I know is on page 741 and another 168 and theres another over 350 that I visit . If you want a weekly coffee shop do one but the bottom line wheather this should be locked would be Grande man or model bob

Who says we can't do BOTH? Keep this one for people who prefer it, and have a shorter-life-cycle one for those who don't. It reminds me of when I was in high school, I'd stop at the McDonalds to see who was hanging out there, then cruise over to the Burger King on the other side of town...

That sounds like a winner to me .

Morning all!

Sabrina, I'll do the waffles, hashbrowns and a large coffee.

Well, it's almost here guys and gals, the weekend! Anyone have anything special going on? We've got a competition that LGM has to be at Saturday and a train show Sunday. Sounds like a restful weekend... :D

I'm supposed to be picking up a new-to-me car in about 30 minutes. It's a Eddie Bauer Explorer. It's a '96 with 151K but the body is straight and the interior is an emaculate grey leather.

Good Morning Everyone! Large cup of Joe, please.

The whole point of the coffee shop is to centralize or concentrate the "what's up" trivial posts and to act the part of a real coffee shop get together. If you start dividing it, then you defeat its purpose as you would if everyone sat at seperate tables ;). I like the idea of sub-topics on this forum, but I believe you can get it spread out too much and lose the effectiveness of the main topic.

However, I can see no reason for not renewing the topic after xx number of posts since most of the posts are not meant to be archived material anyway. We have dedicated topics for that kind of information.

Just my 2 cents. :)

Nice going Chip. I need to find a good deal myself. My '86 Dodge pickum up needs a long rest. I would like to have a new one, but like you...a new-to-me is all I need.

Good morning... I got my layout running, after a fashion, last night. I had to test an Atlas GP40 I bought on Ebay, so I had to hook the wires back up. It ran, but I can tell the track needs some serious cleaning.

I haven't started priming yet - I'm hoping to start tonight. We've got bunches of relatives coming over in a couple of weeks, and I'll be gone almost all of next week, so we're busy trying to get the house ready for it. Personally I'd love to have the railroad room ready as extra space, but that probably won't happen.

Good afternoon guys.

Well, I'm making some progress on the layout. I plan to add some ballast within a week. :)

Jeff- What roadname is that GP40? Sounds pretty cool to me, nothing like a good Atlas unit.

Oh, and I'll have a Sprite. ;)

Glad to hear about your layout progress. We'll be needing pics soon... :D

Well I got the Eddie Bauser and the first thing I find out off the lot (AS IS) is that the door locks don't work. They need an activator--whatever that is. Luckly I live in a small town and we never lock our doors anyway. Still...

G-man it wasn't clear from what my wife said the guy told her if the activator was a process or a part.

The door locks grind or spin when you push the buttons. We also need the numerical key for the door pad.

Hi Everyone, how are you all doing,
i think i got the bargain of the week last night, i bought a collectors train collection for £100, for my money i got over 40 various trucks from tankers to hoppers and box cars, 13 coaches, 4 locos 2 dummy locos and some other bits and bobs, in total each item cost £1.60 ish, not bad considering almost everythings boxed and never used, Oh Yeah, i have given some of the good stuff to my kids and the rest will go on Ebay.
Tree felling tommorow, the chainsaws got teeth like a saltwater crocodile, so a bit of respect is in order i think so no beer tonight, the trees are only little 30' pines but the ones i have to do in the spring are 120'-150' tall canadian poplars, should be fun.

I will post nearly the same exact post I did over on the MR forums...(With the addition of the new Weathering Forum, I believe I'll stick to this forum mainly;))

Afternoon everyone. Pepsi please.

Perhaps this baby will be my next victim of weathering. Just look at that rust! I'd have to wait, I have a customer wanting me to do some SP box cars for him...I think I'm up to the task.

Well, just checkin' in.

Matt
