The 60/40 Layout And Other Railway Related Things

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

Thanks, I need to get a decent camera and tripod, using a phone camera makes for a shaky video.
I thought the videos looked good. I was only teasing you about your fingers.

They make tripods for phones. I got one from Amazon with a remote Bluetooth switch for under $20 I don't do well with photos. My hands are far too unstable to try to make a video without one.

After a lot of head scratching, cursing the gods of HO scale, and moving 6" of track some 30-40 times over 4-5 hours, I have succeded in getting the 6 leggers around my problem curve, well going forwards anyway, in reverse I seem to keep losing an axle but as I doubt I'll be reversing them often I'm happy to leave it at that and call it a win.

Ran a train to relax after a frustrating afternoon, some members may recognise a few of their former cars getting out and about, (excuse the mess).

Looking good Chris!!

Not much happening with the layout but I've managed to finish a few projects that were on my "to do" list.

On my "dipstick" day stencilled cab numbers onto the roofs of the two switchers I now have (one was given back to me as the owner died) at least I can now read which ones which.

Replaced the rear coupler on this F45 with a tension lock using a NEM tension lock, Kadee draft box and self tapper.

This UP DD40 I've had for a while, now upgraded to DCC and LED headlight.

This is the Kato Alco C425 Iwas having trouble fitting the bodyshell to, seems having the walkway the correct way round certainly helps fit the bodyshell.

I was going to replace the handrail on the front step, but I'm not paying out $35 for a single small piece of plastic.

I was wondering how well those foam things work...
I have the one made by Bowser, and I do like it. It fits a freight car and locomotive well. So, it does work nice.

I do like the one Chris purchased. It looks like it would work well too. Maybe he would be so kind as to send us a link? :D
Always happy to help. You'll have to add thicker foam for HO models, the arm doesn't grip the model otherwise as I found out about 10mins ago.
