Not much happening on the layout this weekend, finished off some backdrop building, and prepped the Pennsy boxcar for repainting, (waiting on the paint).

On one curve I've had an issue with a track join, not enough to cause a derailment, but sufficient for me to lay a new piece of track.

Before.

I was going to try using JMRI for the first time tonight, but I bottled it. 😂

Much better!

I think you should reward yourself with a new locomotive. :D

Nice fix, Smudge!

JMRI you say? Are you thinking about JMRI Operations? I've used it for a while now and love it!

I've downloaded JMRI and Panel Pro, I just need to connect it to my Digitrax controller and go through the setup, after that, I'll follow the destructions, hopefully, I'll work out how to work it, but I think at some point I have to load all my Locos onto JMRI before I can do much.

Nope, you don't have to interface your layout with a computer to use jmri ops! I've been using ops for a while and still haven't used decoder pro!

I can find some good youtube videos that helped me if you are interested.

Yeah, if I bought a locomotive every time I did something right on my layout I'd have.... well never mind, I bought a locomotive anyway :D

If you need anymore 40' or 20' containers I know that someone posted some for sale here :D
Thanks, but postage from the US to the UK is stupidly expensive, and it's only £2.40 from China.

I need to use my controller as an interface, I don't have the Digitrax PR3 or PR4.

But any YT videos would definitely be helpful

Yeah, from Everest Models on evilBay with postage, it's about $25, and as my knowledge of well cars is non-existent, as you know, what missing details ??? 😂
The container alone is worth close to $10.00.

Seens that's about the going rate now with shipping.

How did the first one roll? Well before the dog incident heard round the world. :( :( :(

I will post a link to a channel that has some good "getting started" videos on this. JMRI Decoder Pro requires an interface with your DCC layout. JMRI Operations is found under Panel Pro not Decoder Pro. Operations has nothing to do with DCC. It can be used on a DC layout the same way.

It is only a program on your computer in which you enter the necessary information about your layout and it will print switch lists to tell your "crews" what their work is.

Yes, it can get very complicated but just start simple and you can get as involved with it as you want or just keep it simple.

Sorry the Container's another £8 so all together around $33, still not bad tho' I think.

It rolls really well, as good as the Athearn and Intermountain cars, despite being now slightly dog-eared, I was expecting cheap (plastic) couplers and wheelsets, but they're all metal.
