Thank you!

It reminds me of Amtrak's Acela.
The first Eurostar ran in November 1994, the first Acela was in, I think December of 2000.
But the earlier version of the Acela and the Eurostar do look alike.

I think the new version Acela definitely takes after the Japanese bullet train tho.

Current state of my workbench, the 0-4-0 I'm replacing the drive rods, thanks to GuilfordRailman for reminding me I still had this to do.

The A4 had no drive, motor worked but I found the worm gear wasn't meshing with the drive gear, it kinda works now, but there's way too much play on the armature which seems to be causing the problem, if I can find my larger gear puller I may be able to remedy that, if not, I'll need a new motor, or resort to pliers and a hammer.

Not a big fan of pulling locomotives apart. But have fun with this project

OK, so here is where I am today, the main tracks are laid, I need to add point motors and do the wiring for the, and the lighting for the Loco Shed, Silo and Goods Shed, but at the moment this is what I have in mind.

The track with the Silo will be at some point run directly to the other side creating the reverse loop I want, but at the moment I don't have enough TO's to do that, so until I get them it will stay as it is, it's on the other side of the table so not a major problem, when I get round to do it.

I've positioned most of the buildings where I think they will eventually be placed, there's still the Signal box and the second station to go in, the two white pieces of paper represent the Machine shop (the larger of the two), and the two storey goods shed that I still have to build. I have a few other structures I can use, but their very continental in appearance.

I'll have to acquire some more generic looking structures, a factory or two perhaps, not connected to the Railway, but they will likely go in the area between the Machine Shop and the Silo. As soon as I can get that done I can start on the scenery. I intend to just run some trains in the meantime, see if there are any changes I want to make before I start ballasting.

I'm also thinking of building a small berm of some kind to go between the Industrial area and the inner track.

Well, a year late and of course a few dollars short. No idea Chris how I missed this layout re-vamp. Read the last couple pages and decided, go to the beginning dummy to figure out what is going on.

I will add my 2 cents worth of comments down the line

I'm guessing the old livestock car.
The last three cars are all Hornby OO scale, the cattle truck is fitted with a Kadee coupler one end and Tension lock at the other, I'm doing the same with this loco, it may look as if the tension lock will stick out further than it should, but after the bodyshell is replaced it shouldn't look too out of place, just a little weird.

I'll post another foto with the bodyshell on later, I'm just trying to figure out why this motor has started to "pulse", I may have to replace it.

That's one of the old Jet 400 motors. I just watched this video a couple of days ago:

Might just need a good cleaning, or the magnet may be getting weak. Those are also referred to as baby elephant motors. They draw a lot of current. Definitely not a good choice for a DCC upgrade!
Great video, thank's, but definitely outside my comfort zone to try and refurbish mine, so new motor it is.:)
