Well, thing's have definitely not gone to plan. Murphy's Law strike's again while I was moving stuff around, I tripped and I've had to do some temporary first aid on part of the diorama.

Not glad that you tripped but your layout is looking awesome!

Besides the mis-alignment, it looks like you nipped the rail the wrong way, and forgot to remove a tie from the track on the top left to allow for the joiner.
Sorry Willie, my fault, I should have corrected that before I took the foto, this where the two halves of my layout meet, hence no joiners, and for some reason whenever the board's gets lifted that track goes out of alignment so I've put a screw and washer that's out of shot so I can slide it back. But that's not it.

Other than what Willie said - um, something to do with the switch machine maybe?? I can't see anything out of the ordinary though ??
Close enough Tom, the switch machine is the wrong way round.

The flat end, which is the end you see with the grooves, needs to be towards the diverging track, otherwise the round or switch bar end, fouls the cars as they cross over. In OO scale it doesn't really matter only passenger car's have bodies low enough to foul it, but in HO everything will foul the switch motor.

I can fix it easily enough, I think, but I need to work out which will work best, simply turning it around although seems easiest, but that entails problems if I need to lift the other board and leave this one down, as well as properly securing the motor as it will extend across the two boards.

Ahh, my name is Tony mate but that's not important right now - what is important is """What do I win???""" ;) 😆 😆 😆
Sorry, TONY apologies mate, I didn't mention a prize, did I, I know my spellings rubbish but it's not that bad. :D

Made a decision regarding this point motor, I wanted to use a sub surface point motor, but it won't fit, got a flipping 2"X4" directly under it, so I've added a small section to the outside of the track and mounted the point there, I still need wire it up so I can check that the height is correct and operates, definitely not a pretty solution, but it will do for now.

Done a little more to the layout, as some of you know I've (we) have been a bit pre-occupied with signals recently, but as everyone is waiting around for equipment, it's had to take a back seat for a few days.

Fixed the switch motor I had to move, wiring was fine but it wasn't very level, so the switch kept getting stuck, had a wiring issue earlier, no power to the lights on the Industrial area, after several hours (I'm rubbish at fault finding on electrics) found a burnt ground wire and a burnt out switch.

Decided I needed to make up the security gates for the Industry, not quite finished, when I work out how long the barriers need to be, I'll trim them and glue the stop signs on so the sit center of the barriers.
