I like that and sounds like a job for tomorrow though - starting to get a bit electronically frazzled :)
Fair enough, you've got a lot done anyway, and it's nearly 1.30am here, so time I was gone too, but it should look something like this when your done.

Tony,
Sorry, to hear about your heart attacks. That must have been awful to go through. I, also, quit cold turkey, in September 1980. Not because of health issues but because the price for cigarettes, in vending machines, was raised to 50¢ a pack. I was in the cafeteria at work, gave the pack to a co-worker and said I don't enjoy it enough to pay that much. The last day I smoked. Why did the price bother me, so much. It cost 20¢ a pack when I started, at eight years old. It was difficult, at first. Mainly because I was so use to holding a cigarette that I missed the feeling and didn't know what to do with my hands. You will eventually get over that but it will take time. Just don't replace those feelings with eating food. Glenn

I had to chuckle to myself when I read how expensive they were back in the 80's - 50 cents a pack :) The cost of the darn things makes quitting worth while, not to mention the health side of things which I take with a grain of salt to be honest. My grandmother died when she was 104 years old and she died of pneumonia in a hospital after walking something like 5 miles to get there - she didn't drive :) Did I also mention that she smoked a pack of Marlboro Red every day including on her walk to hospital? Evidently when she got to the hospital, she complained of feeling a little bit tired :) She was one tough old bird!

I think the arrows are your direction of travel. At least that’s what I gathered from your video of your trains.

That is what I thought as well, at first but apparently Smudge was showing me something different- how to wire two of them together :)
Your coming along with the signaling.

Looking great!!

Yeah I am pretty pleased with how it turned out and it really wasn't hard at all. I hope these Sig Masts that I am getting on Monday are as easy to wire and I can figure out where to put them on the layout.

By the way - were you serious about me trying to draw something up for your track plan for you?

I don't know about Chris but I know all the skylarking around and taking digs at one another has inspired and motivated me as well. I know there were times when I'd think - why bother, what's the point.

Well, the point now is I have a couple (or more) nut cases that I might be able to help in some way and who can help me in return ... :)

Besides we all need some humor in this world.
And that is why I started this thread - sure, it was intended (and still is) to document my progress with my little, uncomplicated layout but it is also some where that people can come and have some fun and not have to worry about upsetting anyone or straying from the topic of the thread - some where where they can be themselves and joke around and have a laugh. We say this is a hobby and it should be fun - I think it is about time that we didn't just say those things, we practiced them as well :)

There is enough misery in this world and in life - and there are so few places we can escape it. I hope here is one of them though.

Preciously! This morning in our conversations back and forth took away the anxiety I have felt for the last couple of years. I still don't have a definitive plan, but I do have a path.

Having a path to take is a darn good start ... one step at a time and it will all fall in place. You lay that first length of flex, then the next and you see it coming together - that'll inspire and motivate you as well. You already know that Chris and I and others as well are NOT going to let you get out of building this layout - WE want to see it done :)

Not a certified nut case yet! Screws loose in the head…definitely! Besides we all need some humor in this world. I’m sure I’ll get mine eventually…especially when I get the blessing to build! 🤣🤣🤣
Thats the beauty of this forum, on several of the others I've been around, the old timers would have a stroke, and bleed out if we had the thread drift, we do here at times.

Here its all good!

This thread is an exception as I am sure you know. This is a nothing thread really and if some body doesn't like it well, they know where to find me :) There has to be some latitude, some give and take - people aren't robots who can be programed - people get too serious about some things and that ruins it for others.

These forums are, all in all, a good place with a decent group of people, the majority of which have the same and or similar attitude toward the hobby :)
