The “Give Tony Grief” Thread

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

Think I just did too much too quickly to begin with and am now keen to get it finished so I can see how it is going to look :)

Anyway - this is how it all looks at the moment:

Guess I will just keep plodding along with the "To Do List", which is:

1. Finish the plastering for the terrain
2. Paint the plaster for the terrain
3. Apply basic ground cover
4. Install the final 2 sets of Drop Feeders
5. Connect the Drop Feeders to the track
6. Continue Weathering the Track
7. Continue Ballasting
8. Finish installing and wiring the Street Lights
9. Light the Buildings (maybe - at least the Station)
10.Work on the landscaping - under growth, bushes, trees etc

I know I may have made this look like, or sound like, work BUT it isn't - it is ALL fun well except maybe the feeders :) Just wanted to show what I had left to do, and that doesn't include the Signals or the HELIX!!!! 😅 😅 😅
Seems someone in the coffee shop has your Helix waiting for you :D

Then you come to the proper list.

Items bought by family must go on layout.
Things you thought were correct, but not.
Repairing faults and breakages
Updating scenery.
etc. etc. etc..

I have plans for some of it, but I have enough extra curved pieces to make at least 12 complete circles. I figure at N scale, each loop in a helix would need to rise at least 1.75 inches. That would mean I have enough spare pieces for a helix to rise 3 feet. Surely that would be enough for the helix Tony's planning.🙃

Jeeze, another damn comedian in the group - wonderful, just wonderful! :p 😅
Freakin helix's. Just another distraction I need to avoid as well. I'm with you Tony.

Don't let them get you Hutch - run man - RUN! 😅

So this Signal thing - another thing I swore I would not do - has come to fruition. I successfully wired up one of the Dwarf Signals this afternoon and found it easier than I expected, with a lot of help from @Smudge617 and @IronHorseman. Now have to put together a small Control Panel for the switches. Once that is done and everything is secure, I'll post some pictures/video of them working :)

I know I said no more videos but I had to post this one - my First Amtrak Train and her first run:

You'll notice straight away that these cars are a tad too big and look odd for my radii on this layout - but hey, at least they don't derail :)
