Grasses from the garden, not enlarging this is your thread, just ideas to help, I used pampas’s grass, but most dry grass seeds tend to scale, if y our in a high humidity level mosses or lichens add texture free, branches scale up for trees

Yep, like a cyclone just went through the place 🤣

But, it is getting there slowly and I think it is going to look okay once I get the other side to look like something that resembles land and so forth. The town wont look so lonely or out of place. Stil not really sure what I am going to do over there though.

No rush, sure Dave has an idea tho'. 😂

Tree's and other foliage are the last things to go on and yep, I was considering a river but not sure where I could run it. I should have thought about that before I put the track in to be honest. I still intend adding a bit more to the layout so will consider a river in that expansion BEFORE I do any track work so I can position bridges and so forth :)

What about a drive in theater? I have one about 6 miles away from my house. Awesome experience to go watch a movie and have the train rumble through behind you. IIRC, wasn’t it O Winston Link who shot the famous drive in steam train picture?

Pity you can't put a nice river, with nice pub on the bank, patrons waving to the pleasure boats as they go past, 🤔Mmmmm, Swap the river for a canal, with locks either end, so it looks like the canal goes under the track, it could work, nah! too much I think.

There's an idea - now to find an N Scale Drive In Theatre ...???

Darn it - I like that too! I see pictures of Cambridge and little restaurants along the banks of the river there ...

You guys are making it hard

You mean like this N scale one.

Yep - just like that one :) However, remember the issues I had with the last "Blair Line" kit I made, missing parts and so forth and not a word from Bair Line after I emailed them about that.

There really isn't too much to a drive in theatre - a big screen (styrene), a little restaurant, a ticket both and that is about it. Fencing of course. I could make my own to be honest. Would also need the speaker thingies - some modified parking meters would work for them though :)

I think the Drive In might be best left for another day. The screen (in n scale) is going to be at least 4" wide then the car parking area and café etc - that'll take a lot of real estate that I just don't have. Was a great thought though ... :(

I think I am back to the Canal and Locks idea with the Pub on its banks :)

I still have another 4' X 4' area I can open up at some point - perhaps then I will be able to fit one in. As said, I like the idea but want it to be realistic in terms of area as well.
