The lookout tower that was about 10 miles from where I grew up had a tower and a small cabin. The tower is roughly 120 feet higher than the tallest hilltop. If you knew where to look through a pair of good binoculars you could just make out the next tower. Now, just look at night for the flashing light of the cell towers that were placed nearby. Radio tower, there’s an idea. Your town needs some quality programming to listen to.

I really have to make a firm decision on what to do in that big brown, baby poo space I have. I know you guys are coming up with ideas, and that's great but think I need to do something that blends that part of the layout into the existing part of the layout. I might end up just extending the main street a little - I dunno :(

You have tracks separating them.

You could do a seedy side of town theme.

Downtown Deco has some really nice buildings that would fit the bill!

So, with the inclusion of Switch Machines (Peco PL11's) I have decided to make up a Switch Control Panel so I knew what points were where.

The points diagram was made in PSP and then printed onto Decal Paper. I don't know if this will work or not but we will see:

The Decal will be placed on a double 9.00" X 6.00" sheet of Styrene:

Holes drilled for the switches (when I get them) and we should be ready to go :)

Tape is an option, or I could mask it all up and spray the "track work" on ... nah - the tape option is MUCH better :)

The only thing I have with this decal paper is I have not used it before so I have no idea how it is going to react, how thick it is or thin, etc. Bit of a trial and error thing on my part. Only good thing is I have a Laser Printer so I don't have to worry about sealing anything.

Okay - well, I think this worked out pretty well, if I don't say so myself :)

Once the decals dry properly, I'll give them a light coat of Dullcote to seal them in place and so when I drill the holes I don't rip them up

Now to wait for the Switches so I can drill the right sized holes and we should be set to wire er up :)
