I am trying to take the shell off a steam locomotive my Dad bought. Its probably about 15 to 25 years old. I don't know the brand or have any documentation on it. I found two tabs on the sides of the cab that allowed the back of the shell to lift up. I also removed one screw from the bottom of the engine near the front, although I'm not sure if that helped. The front of the shell will wiggle a little, but can't come off. I can see the headlight and I guess a weight inside the front of the shell. The shell appears to be the full circle in the front, so I think it appears impossible for it to lift straight up. I wondered if it is supposed to slide forward, but I can't get it to budge. Does anyone know what I'm missing to finish removing it?
Thanks,
Victor

Not familiar with this specific loco, but looks like the front brass screw that fixes the coupling needs to be removed.
Does one of the two domes lift up with the help of a sharp blade? Often there's a screw down there. The boiler often slides off, once it's freed, toward the front, away from the light fixture.
I can't tell from looking inside the smokebox, as there appears to be a small circuit board and resistor for the headlight, but there might be a long screw going down thru the smokestack, through the smokebox into the steam chest (cylinders). If there is no screw through the smokestack, then I don't know...
