stripping paint on walthers F40

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

Update:

On original release Walthers F40s, (IE as built VIA scheme) 70% isopropyl alcohol will work, on newer releases (IE VIA Canada scheme) alcohol only removes the numbers/letters and softens the paint.

Acetone WILL DESTROY A WALTHER'S SHELL, even if you cut it with water.

Brake fluid has the same effect as alcohol.

Oven cleaner does NOTHING to newer release paint. (Mind you my can of over cleaner is 4+ years old)

Verdict...the newer release F40PH is difficult to strip. Anybody try Chameleon or something different?
