Starting a New Christmas Tradition

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

I bought an O scale Polar Express train to run under the tree. I have 3 grand kids 1, 2 & 3 years old. We are going to have dinner then watch the movie The Polar Express. After the movie we will light the tree and unveil the new train with all the sound effects from the movie and smoke from the stack. We will follow that with hot chocolate.

Last week, we celebrated the 2 YO's birthday at EnterTRAINment and all the kids had an blast. I am hoping that the new tradition will be a hit and continue through the years.

What at are your train Christmas/Hanukkah traditions?

That EnterTRAINment looks like a lot of fun, to run. And visit too.

I always wonder what it would take to get something like this in our area. I guess you need to start with someone that would be interested and has deep pockets. I have interest but no deep pockets.

You get my vote for "Best Post of the Holiday Season"! I am biased, I am a huge Lionel Polar Express fan! LionChief sets are too cool!

I wish I had more time I could ramble on and on. If you stick around I will come back after Christmas and ramble. Santa Pop is really busy this time of year!

Welcome to the forum, don't be a stranger and stop by the coffee shop if you have a chance.

BTW I love what you did. It's a great tradition. I watch Polar Expeess with my son and I would love to have that set.

I'm thinking I can get a little HO train under our tree this year.
