So I read on the Digitrax group, and figured out that if I put my REGULAR locos with DCC on the programming track, and turn on blast mode, I can program the addresses just fine. However, trying this same procedure with the Spectrum/Tsunami setup, still will not change the address. I didn't realize buying a decent product would cause me this many problems. The cheap bachmann dcc locos program GREAT now. But I cannot change the address on the spectrum this way. More research....

NOW I'M MAKING SOME HEADSPACE.

From another forum:

Thats interesting as I was told yesterday that address changing on the Zephyr Extra on the Tsunami Challenger had to be done on the main line and on Page Mode After setting on burst mode. They said it couldn't be done on the program track.

and...

Aha! I've just tried that myself, and page mode with burst mode on the main indeed works for address changing! (I was specifically told it wouldn't work, and thus - foolishly - didn't try it for myself until now). A lot easier than using the programming track (especially since there's the Zephyr Xtra can't readback the Tsunami's CVs, which is ordinarily the main advantage of the programming track), so I would suggest that this method is the way to go.

I tried this and successfully changed my 2-10-2 to channel 16. I'm going to play around with this some more to see if I can use the 4 digits also.

I wonder how I can make this work the same way with decoder pro..... Next challenge...
